This season I get excited about negating a points deduction, staying within PSR, nicking a goal and closing out a game. The rest is a bonus, as is just waking up in the morning. I'm old.

I'm not a strategist, but that's ok as there appears to be plenty here already. But to say a strategy is/was wrong, don't you first have to know the outcome?

I think the home technical area at the KP needs an exorcism. For years now, managers have been possessed when making utterly bizarre substitutions -- that being the latest of them 👻👹

Warwick will be too expensive. And if we're playing wingers I think Windsor Davies would be a better target man. Also, as he's been dead five years we'd get him on a free ... probably.

The Spurs match made me see the light on this one. If we could get him on sensible terms, I'm in.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but when would a new signing have to be made by to play in this game (assuming no work permit shenanigans)?

Coops doesn't fancy Cannon, which is fair enough at Prem level. I'm sure he'll end up at Stoke or some such for the season which will benefit him. So, it could be as simple as until we sign a striker Mavs will be benched to remain fresh to come on up front for Vards. Subsequently, BCR will probably continue to slot in,.as he's the new Albrighton -- like Hamza is the new Amartey 😜

It just wasn't on offer. On that showing I'll be glad for a season than not at all...

And this is why Skipp is both needed and welcome. Saw an old Spurs mate yesterday who was gutted he'd left. Says he can 100% play alongside Winks and is a bargain at the price paid. Just sayin'.

Incidentally, Transfermarkt - who consistently undervalue players - have Skipp at £15 mill. So, for a young, English player with EPL experience IRL (plus Levy tax) probably isn't far off the mark. As others have pointed out, salary is reality in the world of P$R. Has he moved for more money or more minutes?

Having now had a while to process this, I'm optimistic Skipp will give us much needed solidity and depth in the middle. It's naive of us to believe all transfers are done in order of importance. Some are obviously simpler and quicker to get done, others take longer or just fall through. Cooper has acknowledged there are more to come (🤞), so let's just relax and enjoy the match later (🫣).
