  1. Highcliffe boy here. My first few weeks of at Stonehill were a bit of an eye opener, I can tell you 😳
  2. Are we entitled? Mmmm, not sure. I'll have a think about it once I've finished polishing the commemorative 'Leicester City, Champions League winners 2026' silver plaque I've had mounted on my living room wall...
  3. We’d have to send Facundo back, wouldn’t we? You can’t have more than one loan player from the same club.
  4. He was a candidate in 2023 before we appointed Maresca, so he was definitely on the club’s radar. I’m not sure his few games at Man Utd had any influence on the decision.
  5. The phrase 'last time round' would suggest otherwise.
  6. So let's get this straight. Because Steve Cooper was associated with the England youth set up and was crap for us, we can safely assume that Lee Carsley, who has also worked in the England youth set up, must have exactly the same attributes/philosophy/coaching style etc as Cooper and should therefore be completely written off?
  7. This question applies to pretty much all the candidates we've been linked with.
  8. RvN is also unproven in the Premier League. The England squad seemed to love playing for Carsley and had a huge amount of respect for him when he was interim boss. He's obviously got something that players like.
  9. In our position, the only 'experienced' managers likely to take the job are those whose stock has fallen because they've failed at jobs or have nothing left to prove. There's nothing necessarily wrong with going down that route, but it does of course carry clear risks. Appointing an up and coming manager with less experience is a different kind of risk. You're effectively betting that they're on an upward trajectory and will lift you up with them in the short period they're with you. This paid off for us when we recruited Enzo. Bayer Leverkeusen have benefited massively from taking a punt on Xabi Alonso. Arsenal are probably pleased that they took a chance on Arteta. Etc, etc. On the other hand, the likes of Gerrard, Lampard and Solskjaer have fared less well. So two different types of risk. On balance, I'd prefer we go down the second route as I think we need somebody who can galvanize us in a way that an experienced journeyman would probably struggle to do. I accept others may view it differently.
  10. Can you point to where John Percy has stated we've approached Potter or Moyes to replace Cooper? All I can find is an article stating that Potter would be 'likely contender', not that we've contacted him. I'm not going to pay money to view Alan Nixon's pateron account, but has he actually stated that we've approached Potter or Moyes about the current vacancy rather that merely speculating that we might approach them? Not that I'd necessarily trust Nixon as he spouts a huge amount of bullshit, but I'm still interested to know the source for your belief that we've actually been in contact with either of these two candidates...
  11. The media reports have suggested that we weren't interested in Potter or Moyes, not the other way around. Apparently we didn't contact either of them this time around.
  12. If RvN has done his due diligence on us, he will know that both Rodgers and Maresca complained about being misled about our financial situation. Given that RvN quit PSV because he didn't feel he would be backed in the transfer market, I'd imagine he'd want very strong reassurances on this front before signing for us. It wouldn't surprise me greatly if talks collapsed at the last stage as they apparently did with Potter in the summer.
  13. Which experienced grafter would you go for? Allardyce? Steve Bruce?
  14. Last year the EFL tried to submit a business plan on us because they suspected we were likely to breach PSR for 2021-24, but we successfully prevented them from doing so. However, they did later succeed in imposing a transfer ban on us, although this was basically just symbolic as the transfer window wasn't open at the time and we were able to start buying players again as soon as we became a PL club. We then received around £40m from Chelsea for Maresca and KDH, which will count towards last year's accounts. Nobody outside the club yet knows whether the money received from Chelsea enabled us to avoid a breach for 2021-24, but most reports suggest it will be close either way - ie, we'll either have just avoided a breach or marginally breached. If it's the former, we have nothing to worry about; if it's the latter, we could face a small points deduction.
  15. I think you mean 'tireshome'.
  16. Honestly only really an issue for fans from east Leicestershire. Most of the rest of the county hate Den Haag a lot more.
  17. This one feels a bit of a stretch.
  18. No, you're not. If we were so hamstrung re: PSR for the financial year ending 30 June, why didn't we just wait until early July and spend a small portion of the transfer budget on Corberan (or whoever)? I've never been able to figure it out...
  19. Stop your messin' around (ah-ah-ah) Try to think of our future (ah-ah-ah) Time to straighten us out (ah-ah-ah) Or we're going straight down (ah-ah-ah) Ruudi A message to you, Ruudi A message to you...
  20. Even that didn't make that much sense as the players didn't even report for duty until early July and we could have just waited until the new financial year and cough up the £3-4m or whatever.
  21. I suppose it was really a reply to daddlylonglegs but I ended up responding to your reply to him. I understood & agree with your point.
  22. Cooper was sacked after 12 games when we were out of the relegation zone. Getting rid of him was 100% the right decision, but if we go down at the end of the season it won't be on him.
  23. @Finnegan
  24. No. On the basis of absolutely nothing, I have a feeling it will end up being somebody who hasn't been seriously linked so far.
  25. Tell him no hard feelings and we wish him well for the future.
