I saw it on TV in real time but haven't found a clip since. Vardy didn't exactly respond very well to Cooper's attempt to shake his hand and seemed to say something like, "We're ****ing shit and if we carry on like this..."
-
There have been media reports suggesting that Top met with a number of players on Saturday and it is that meeting that sealed Cooper's fate. The players have apparently been just as confused/frustrated with Cooper's tactics as the fans have. Vardy's rant at the bench as he left the pitch on Saturday would also seem to back that up.
-
Was it definitely us that went back on it? I did hear that, but other rumours suggested he pulled the plug because we wouldn't give him what he wanted in terms of support staff etc...
-
If you're right, we'll find out today. If it drags on into tomorrow and beyond, we'll know they hadn't reached an agreement with anybody beforehand.
-
I don't know. I have read the rumours that he fell out with some of the players. I've also read that he quit because key players had been sold from under his nose and he hadn't been given reassurances about how they'd be replaced. I'm not sure what the full truth is, and I'm not sure anybody does.
-
Oh. If that wasn't the point you were making, then your use of the phrase 'didn't he get the sack?' was a bit misleading.
-
He's got his phone on airplane mode until after the West Ham game this evening...
-
PSV put out an official statement saying that he had resigned and that they 'regretted' his decision. Why would they do that if they'd sacked him?
-
He resigned because he felt the board weren't supporting him enough. He's been out of work since because he's been waiting for the Leicester job to come up.
-
It sounds like they've been concerned about our performances for some time (like everybody else) and that Top met with some players after the game on Saturday to find out what's going on. After that meeting, Top decided that Cooper's position was untenable and decided to act. If they've already got somebody lined up, we should hear today - but I just get the feeling they haven't reached an agreement with anybody else yet and it may drag on for a few days...

You should probably buy a couple of things for other people, too.

I’ve just listened to two podcasts (I get up early on my days in the office): the WYS podcast with Owynn PA, Piper and Iain Wright from the The Fosse Way, then Lineker’s The Rest is Football podcast. In the first, there was a clear consensus that sacking Cooper was the right decision and, if anything, probably slightly overdue. In the second, the consensus was that it was an incredibly harsh decision and that Cooper hadn’t been given anywhere near enough time. A neat little illustration of the stark difference of perspective between those who actually spend a lot of time watching a team vs those who don’t.

It’s so funny how they’re so obsessed with us and think they’ve got this massive rivalry with us when the only rivals we’re bothered about are Harborough Town.
-
He hadn’t been sacked when this was filmed.
-
I’m not a particular Moyes fan, but this is a spectacularly ill-informed opinion.
-
No it doesn’t.
-
Yep. I reckon we’ll hear tomorrow.
-
Yes. And leave Vestergaard out of the squad entirely.
-
Vestergaard was fit today.
-
Andy Townsend seems genuinely baffled at how crap we are. “This is such a strange performance from a Steve Cooper team.” Presumably this is the first time he’s watched us this season.
-
Vestergaard fit though not in the squad 🤔

Chelsea (H) 23rd November - Pre-match Thread
ClaphamFox replied to Trav Le Bleu's topic in Leicester City Forum
I suspect a howling gale and torrential rain will be more of a hindrance to Chelsea's passing game than whatever game we play. Crap weather inhibits quality, which is surely what we want? -
What situations make Leicester perform better ?
ClaphamFox replied to Elsie Effcee's topic in Leicester City Forum
Away from home at a team we should probably beat. We're behind, but the opposition have just been denied a clear penalty and had a man sent off. This is when we show what we're about -
