Or... We don't sell Iversen to derby
-
For me, selling Hermansen and then buying an unnecessary replacement when we have a very talented goalkeeper waiting in the wings would be a travesty. I would be very happy to trust stolarcyk.
-
The negativity I've read around his history with Forest is pathetic. Let's grow up a bit and get behind him.

Hmm.....20m bid from Bologna? The same Bologna that is pleading poverty over Kristiansen?

I think that one of the positives of Cooper is will likely have that hunger for the job that would seem to have been lacking in Potter and also in Enzo, huffing around talking about leaving if we don't all get on board with his 'idea' and then jumping ship at the first opportunity. That counts for a lot with me and I think he might be able to establish a rapport among with the fans that Enzo was unable to do despite success and has been lacking for such a long time.

Positives on the impending Cooper appointment

I'm happier with Cooper than I would have been with Potter. Lets give him a chance and give him our support. I couldn't give a toss about his connections to Forest. In fact ex-Forest personnel have always done well for us... O'Neill, Morgan, Gary Mills ..err... Alan Rodgers... -
First record I ever bought, aged 7

I hate it. Hate the idea of trying to strangle games. Hate the idea of instructing players to take soft options just to keep the ball instead of taking a more ambitious and direct option. Hate passing it around the defence in the 88th minute when you're 2-1 down and as if you've got all the time in the world instead of sticking your centre half up front and going agricultural. Hate the slow build up, allowing the opposition to set themselves defensively while you tap it around in front of them. Hate passing it around your own penalty area, Russian roulette style til the inevitable happens and you end up looking like a complete tit. Maresca likened his approach to chess. There is a reason that chess is not a spectator sport. Keep your false nines, your inverted full backs and all the rest of that hipster crap. We at the village green preservation society say jumpers for goalposts, no gloves and row zed it, if you have to.

Leicester City, C. 2016
-
This Contract will take him up to the age of 34. I'm just a bit worried that he might lose a yard of pace...
-
Agree that it's time to move on with our best wishes. Without Wilf's introduction in January 2017, we would have had the shame of being relegated champions, imo.
-
It's a little early for him but Stolarcyk is going to be a very good keeper. If Mads leaves, I would give him his chance. Retain Iversen as number 2 and get Ward sweeping the car park.

Shearer turning down Fergie's Man Utd to play for his boyhood team. Bet he regrets it now mind.

This time next season...........................

Planning a tilt at our ninth Championship title. -
Apparently he has an Alaskan malamute called Baloo. For that reason, it is a definite es from me.

I just think that if a player has not been good enough to represent Ghana by age 25, then he is probably not good enough for The Premier League. Schlupp and Amartey have 73 caps between them.
-
A Ghanaian midfielder playing in the Scandinavian leagues. What could possibly go wrong? I don't know anything about him, but he has never been capped for Ghana above U20 level. Big Dan, for example, has been capped 53 times for them.

Experience? ...or trauma?

I'm simply refuting the idea that the deal worked out for us, it didn't. Whether that was down to our recruitment or down to Fofana, is immaterial. I wouldn't say that one year's service for two year's wages was 'decent mileage' either.
-
Fofana certainly did what was best for Fofana, that's for sure, but it did not work out for us. We had to pay a sizeable amount of the fee to St. Etienne due to the sell on clause. We were left high and dry when he got injured (not his fault, of course) and rushed into spending £15m on Vestergaard. For all his plaudits earned in The Championship this year, he was sinply a liability in the prem for us. The following year, as Fofana forced his move, we were left high and dry again and had to rush back into the market for Wout Faes. Veatergaard being completely out of favour. That was arguably another poor signing as we were subsequently relegated. It really didn't work out for us and we didn't make any money out of the saga.

You're on!
-
I agree. Simply because the team that has been promoted is weaker than the team that went down on paper and our defence, as it stands is miles off PL quality. I shall have low expectations and probably end up disappointed.

Bugs me when The Charity Shield gets left out as if it isn't one of the most prestigious and major trophies in world football. It bloody is in our house! But yes, a crazy ten years. Quote of the season for me, courtesy of the hilarious Cov Forum: "I genuinely wouldn't swap their last ten years for ours" Random Covite referring to us.

I think it went: Championship Premier League FA Cup Charity Shield Championship But nio, they haven't.

A couple of threads popping up this morning as if everything was done and dusted. Please remember that we still have it in our hands to completely mess everything up.
