  1. Of course I'd pick Vardy but he is in both teams so the point is moot. I think I;d take Winks over Drinky.
  2. I thought that man for man 13/14 was far superior. Then I made a combined XI and was surprised to see that only Schmeichel, Morgan and Mahrez made the cut.
  3. Leicester City and Manchester City jointly hold the record for most second tier titles - seven. We win this league and we go clear and win more silverware. It;s all about the title for me. It would almost make relegation worth it, Second place is for losers.
  4. All about opinions I suppose, but I'm with sideshow. Yes Barca had brilliant players, yes they were a great team but tiki taka is deathly dull. It reminds me of that famous Simpsons soccer parody scene. I just prefer a bit of blood and thunder. I prefer risk takers and end to end football played at pace. I'm probably a football philistine. I don't even know what an inverted fullback is and I glaze over if someone mentions 'two eights'. Jumpers for goalposts please.
  5. Vardy's nickname at the club was the cannon due to his volatile temper, apparently. So, the heir to the cannon is the Cannon. This gives me much pleasure. Carry on.
  6. Seriously? I mean, you've got to be kidding? Have you really forgotten?
  7. I think that some people are being unduly cautious. I get it. Being a Leicester fan can do that to you and it is usually myself that errs on the side of pessimism, but I find myself on the other side of the argument for once. As much as only a third of the season has been played and acknowledging that there are still a lot of points to play for, you also have to factor in the quality of our squad relative to the rest of the division, the lead we already have and the dominance that we have shown thus far. To fail from here with this squad would take a catastrophe, In fact we can afford for the wheels to come off to an extent. Averaging 2 points per game from hereon in would still give us 103 points, beating our own record and surely guaranteeing promotion. We have been averaging 2.78 points per game thus far.
  8. Injuries are already playing a huge part and yet we continue to make serene progress. You could look at it the other way and say that we have Wilf, Praet, Cannon, Doyle, McAteer, Yunus. Braybrooke and Alves to come back.
  9. Wouldn't that make for a very dull forum? Why not speculate about what the future holds? Fantasize even? We can't just stay in the present. I think we've said all there is to say about QPR.
  10. I knew that there was a chasm between Premiership and Championship but I have been surprised at just how wide the gulf is. Those that struggled in the Prem have got cigars on it this division. Without Maddison and Barnes and others we are surely a weaker side than the side that was relegated BUT we are a much more highly motivated, committed and together side. I think that as it stands, this team would struggle in the Prem and we would get punished much more often by trying to draw the press in our own third. There is a good chance that we are further weakened by losing out of contract Nacho, WIlf and Vardy,. There is a long way to go between now and then including two transfer windows, (assuming we do go up as we seem to have the measure of this league), but I do think we need to invest or face a long struggle to avoid relegation.
  11. You forgot Leicester City (34 pts) They were shite!
  12. Vindication for not resting Winks and KDH (goal and assist, no bookings) despite what some scaredy-trousers folks were hoping for,
  13. Record equalling nine wins in a row. A chance to make history against Leeds.
  14. Not quite. We're averaging 2.77 points per game. To reach 107 from here, we need to average 2.15 from now on. I think we are capable of that.
  15. Oh. Well that's taken the wind out of my sails. Carry on.
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if Parma aren't wondering if they weren't just a tad bit hasty now.
  17. Yes, he likes a beer. Not great with shots though.
  18. I think that if you rest players in order to avoid bookings you'll just end up with those players missing two games instead of one as it is likely that both WInks and KDH will pick up another booking in the following 5 games. We should be looking ahead without fear.
  19. This again. Usually it's "They're Leicester, not Real Madrid" Thing is, we are Real Madrid. Or at least the budget or Championship version thereof. We are the 'own brand' galacticos.
  20. I was definitely in the latter camp too, but then if we're cruising at 3-0 up with 10 minutes to go I still think we're going to mess it up. That season was magnificent torture for me.
  21. The title of this thread bothers me. It reads as if winning The Championship is just formality and that is just a big fat invitation for the universe to kick us up our complacent arses.
  22. Seems crazy to say it but I think you;re right. he wouldn't unseat Harry Winks. A couple of years ago it would have seemed unthinkable that he wouldn't walk into a Championship side.
  23. I find it a little sad that both our FA Cuo winning goal scorer and especially our FA Cuo winning manager are so badly disliked among the fans. I guess that is what happens when you disrespect the club by checking out mentally while you still have a job to do.
  24. For such a vaunted defence they have shipped 11 goals in two and a half games. Carry on.
