THere's a balance to be struck of course, if they end up playing minutes to save the legs of whoever is the starter then the minutes and experienced gained, even sitting on the bench and mixing with and listening to players whose livelihood depends on their performances is well worth it. I'm sure Alves has learned a lot just by being part of the team these last few games.

They seem to care more about how they, the 'Thai family' are viewed in the Leicester/shire none football following communities than the match going fans. They certainly put a lot of effort and resources that way.

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/forever-thankful-marc-albrighton-addresses-9331453 'Forever thankful' Marc Albrighton addresses his future after Leicester City exit The veteran winger is leaving the King Power Stadium after the most remarkable decade in Leicester City's history ByBrian Dick 12:23, 8 JUN 2024UPDATED12:32, 8 JUN 2024 Marc Albrighton has penned an emotional and heartfelt farewell following his release from Leicester City. It was confirmed on Friday that the 34-year-old would be leaving the King Power Stadium after a trophy-laden decade at a club he says has helped him turn his dreams into a reality. The winger, who joined from Aston Villa, leaves as a Premier League, FA Cup and Championship winner and as one of the most loved Foxes players of recent times. But with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Jannik Vestergaard being kept on following a return to the top flight, Albrighton says he will take time to consider his next step. He took to social media to address City fans, players and the club’s owners. Albrighton wrote: “After an unforgettable ten years at Leicester City Football Club, my time has now come to move on. “When I signed for the club back it (sic) 2014 from my boyhood club Aston Villa, never did I think that I could be so emotionally attached to another football club. However over these last ten years of the highest of highs and the lowest of lows I can truly say that I’ve never felt so at home than wearing the Leicester badge on my chest. “The success which we have experienced together are the best moments of my life and they will live with me forever. “Through tough times I’ve had on and off the pitch during these years, the Leicester family have gathered around me and given me every bit of support to overcome them and come out the other side stronger. “I’ve built so many amazing relationships with people at the club that it would be too much to thank them all. “However, I would like to say a massive thank you to my team mates who I’ve shared some unforgettable times with. And also the fans who have been there throughout it all, win lose or draw. And last the Srivaddhanaprabha family who have made all of this possible. I will never be able to repay your kindness, faith and generosity. You gave me the opportunity to achieve my dreams, for which I’ll be forever thankful. “I’m still undecided on what my future holds but for now I’ll take some quality time with my three beautiful daughters and consider my options. “I wish Leicester every success in the future and will make sure I’m a regular at the King Power to support the lads! “Thank you for everything Marc”. Albrighton leaves having made 313 appearances for City. Signed by Nigel Pearson he helped the Foxes achieve their great escape in 2015, then played every game the following season as Claudio Ranieri led the club to the most unlikely of title victories. He was also an early substitute in the FA Cup win at Wembley in 2021.

You can rarely guarantee enough minutes with loans, we seem to have had many recently that just haven't played enough. Yeah when I was recruiting 16yr old apprentices I physically looked down on many of them, returning after a year at a training centre many towered over me, it was frightening how much they'd grown in less than a year.

We're going into the next season as paupers and lower league /relegation fodder so we're not going to easily attract experienced (not old) players with the skill sets of Alves and Braybrooke. There's plenty of players of a similar age playing in the PL and proving they are worth a place in their team. What's most important is for the players to believe in themselves without being arrogant these two seem to have that belief, attitude and ability. Let's see how they fit in with the new manager and how they perform in the pre-season games before dismissing them or going overboard with positivity. I'm quietly confident that they can be integrated into the 1st team this season.

https://sportwitness.co.uk/leicester-receive-polite-rejection-manager-hes-got-plans/ Leicester City receive polite rejection from manager – He’s got other plans By Sean Lunt -7th June 2024 SHARE Leicester City made an approach to Real Madrid coach Davide Ancelotti as a replacement for Enzo Maresca but have received a polite refusal from the Italian. That’s according to journalist Jorge C. Picón, who says that Ancelotti junior would prefer to remain at Real Madrid for another year than head into management at this point. The journalist reports that Leicester and Stade Reims have knocked on Ancelotti’s door as they look for new managers this summer. Leicester are in the hunt for a new boss after Maresca decided to leave and join Chelsea but will have to look elsewhere as Ancelotti is keen on remaining where he is. He’s currently taking a holiday with his father and their family and friends before returning to Madrid to continue their preparations for next season. He received the offer from Leicester gracefully, with the Foxes seeing him as a good profile to continue the project that they started under Maresca. Ancelotti gave them and Reims the same answer, though, he wants to stay at Madrid for another year alongside his father. He’s not closing the door to any proposals, and has even held meetings on that front, but his intention is to finish in Madrid alongside his father and then move into management.

https://www.footballinsider247.com/leicester-city-making-silko-thomas-transfer-decision-sources/ Leicester City making Silko Thomas transfer decision – sources Pete O'Rourke, Transfer Correspondent Fri 7 June 2024 14:49, UK Leicester City gem Silko Thomas is attracting loan interest from multiple Championship and League One clubs, sources have told Football Insider. Thomas, 19, is highly regarded at the King Power after impressing in the Premier League 2, where he scored five goals and provided four assists in 16 games for the under-21s. The winger was named on the Leicester bench in FA Cup clashes against Birmingham and Bournemouth last season, but is yet to make his senior debut. Interested clubs are now waiting for Leicester to decide whether to loan Thomas out, or whether he will be kept around the squad for the upcoming Premier League season. Leicester City gem Silko Thomas wanted by Championship clubs Thomas joined Leicester from Chelsea’s academy in September 2023 and has impressed the coaching staff at the King Power. Having represented England at youth level, both for the under-15s and under-18s, the opportunity to move on loan would allow him a chance to make his name. Thomas featured for Leicester’s under-21 side in the EFL Trophy last season as they took on Fleetwood, Wigan and Tranmere, scoring the winner in a 1-0 win against Tranmere in his first experience against senior teams. With first-team opportunities hard to come by, clubs across the EFL are exploring the possibility of taking him on a season-long loan, should Leicester make him available. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/keith-vaz-running-leicester-east-9326705 Keith Vaz running for Leicester East MP seat he held for 32 years 'Leicester East needs someone with extensive experience' ByHannah RichardsonLocal Democracy Reporter 08:13, 7 JUN 2024 Former Leicester East MP Keith Vaz is running for his old seat in the General Election. Mr Vaz today announced his candidacy for the seat, challenging his successor Claudia Webbe. Mr Vaz, who served as a Leicester Labour MP for 32 years, retired from Parliament after offering to get drugs for prostitutes. It was recommended by other MPs on the Commons Standards Committee that he be suspended from the Commons for six months because his scandal had caused “significant damage” to the reputation of the House of Commons. He will be running on behalf of the city’s newest party, One Leicester. The party was set up by former assistant mayor Rita Patel after she was suspended from Labour along with three other councillors over their attempt to scrap the mayor’s office through a vote at a council meeting. City mayor Sir Peter Soulsby won the vote and shortly after secured his fourth term in the role when the city went to the polls last May. Declaring his intention to run, Mr Vaz said: “It was the greatest privilege of my life to serve as MP for Leicester East for over three decades. I absolutely love Leicester. Today, I am shocked with what I see. Despite so many opportunities, Leicester is unrecognisable, and on the edge of bankruptcy. "Many people have urged me to stand again. When I was formally asked to stand by One Leicester, it felt the right thing to do - to join them in putting Leicester first and party politics second. "My job has always been to listen, to act and to get things done. This is what I intend to do for local people. “When elected, I will donate my MP’s salary to charity for local good causes and ensure more time is given to constituents by setting up the first ever seven-day-a-week MP’s Office.” Ms Patel added: "At this critical time, Leicester East needs someone with extensive experience, dedication and a strong voice who will fight for residents. Keith has been, and still is, a strong advocate for Leicester for over 35 years. "I cannot think of anyone better suited to be picking up the pieces of our unrecognisable City and help make it the best it can be. He has always worked hard for local people and I am sure that they will show their support on July 4.” Also vying for the seat are Rajesh Agrawal for Labour , Zuffar Haq for the Liberal Democrats , Mags Lewis for the Green Party , Shivani Raja for the Conservatives and Raj Solanki for Reform UK and Claudia Webbe as an Independent . You can find a list of the candidates who have so far declared they are standing here. A breakdown of the changes to constituencies can be found here.

I remember being on a works committee like that in my youth and we were told we were going to have to some work which I didn't understand the reason for so I asked Why? and got a vague response so repeated Why?. This went of for 5 or 6 times with no real justification for the work and I was asked to leave. So I did and resigned from it. -

Ouch, I remember the ruler across your knuckles. We had an RE teacher who used to grab you by your sideburns or ears and drag you out of the room, to be fair we did piss him about a lot. His favourite saying was Get out, get out of my room which we all used to shout out together.

The cane was used freely in my school, I got it on my first day along with half the school as they shut the gate for the afternoon session and half the school were still on the park. I got caned plenty of times and I was one of the least troublesome kid in the class. But the PE was the worst as we used to have to run around Victoria Park and the last one back was usually me, well apart from the single fat guy got the slipper. It was the very thick sole of a plimsole an I can tell you it hurt was more than the cane.

Premier league clubs to vote on scrapping VAR

But that is not the case you get relegated because you're bad all season not just one decision in one game besides you've probably had some decisions gho in your favour. -
Hopefully not any of the pundits who seem to take a very lack view of the rules especially when commenting on their old team
