signed under Holloway. I think Clogger is thinking of the 1-1 draw with stoke under Megson, where we started Cort and De Vries up front, Campbell on the wing, and ended up with Fryatt Hume and Court just sort of wandering round: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/7008066.stm

for the level he's supposed to be at, he's not talented. Sure, he's talented compared to the average person, which is why he's been playing professional football this afternoon while I've been on the sofa polishing off a tin of quality streets, but he's not a particularly good footballer. He tries and puts in more effort than most of the team but lacks talent

Huge difference between being too limited a player and not caring. There are absolutely players in the squad for whom it is just a job and who aren't bothered the moment they step off the pitch (thinking the likes of Winks) and there are those who clearly do care but just don't have the ability or the mental fortitude to make it (e.g. Daka). Thomas falls far more into the latter category than the former.
-
Realistically it will end up being Russell Martin, we're never going to pull out an unknown gem when Rudkin doesn't know the continent exists, but at this point Brussel really couldn't be worse.
-
Get him sacked. You knew from the moment they equalised we'd get nothing from it. He cannot turn a game around.
-
need an equaliser, dick around with in on the halfway line. Genuinely stupid
-
Game management from Cifuentes is dogshit, so consistently. Have we ever looked like picking up points after falling behind?
-
I mean he is one of the best keepers in the division, if you want to say that says more about the standards in this division then by all means, but he's plenty good enough for this level. Confidence is clearly shot, should be playing Vietes if he actually exists (Not Begovic, he was also pretty poor while playing, as weak as that was v Middlesborough for their equaliser and about 5 days late diving for Sheff Utds second)
-
genuinely pathetic. I like Stolarcyk but he has to take advantage of the protection goalkeepers get, go out aggressively, take the ball knowing any collision will be given your way.
-
just shoot there Ayew!
-
What was the point of that Abdul?
-
Talked a good game in the summer and has done the exact opposite of what he said he would. Where the front footed aggressive play, looking to extend the lead?
-
his decision making is poor yes, he's 21. That's very much the case with any young winger - a winger not yet in his prime who makes the right decision every time is a 9 figure player going to a man city or real madrid. Like lets be clear, hes been poor this season, but this system hangs all of the attacking players out to dry.
-
agree to disagree, I don't think any attacking player would look good in this team, lacking any sort of attacking system. Even Ayew, much as I don't like his playstyle being so geared towards the whistle happy refereeing of the top flight, would look better if there was a cohesive attacking plan - because his techncial ability is good enough for this division
-
he's been mostly crap this season, but realistically would anyone look better when there's no such thing as an attacking pattern in this team?
-
I assume you mean concurrent, because 124 hours of back to back football would be banging at this time of year.
-
Should the two until Souttar is fit, at which point see which of Okoli and Souttar partners better with Nelson
-
"Mavididi hasn't scored yet this season". Sky commentators tuned out at half-time v Sheff Utd like the rest of us then.
-
there's a guy literally stood on top of Stolarcyk in an offside position? That's always going to be given as interfering with play
-
never fall in love with a loanee getting tested when there's only about 3 likeable players in this squad
-
The difference is that throwing the academy player in at the deep end risks damaging their progression. We should be having them off the bench 20, 30 minutes frequently, they're bright prospects and ready for that next step of frequent sub appearances or a League one/two loan, but playing them for a full 90 week in week out is not sensible management for their development.
-
Playing a scholar for 90 minutes each game, 46 times a season is not a reasonable alternative.
-
Short of playing Jake Evans or Lorenz Hutchinson for 90 minutes every week, or going out there and sticking Mavididi up top, we've got no alternative really. Absolutely rancid squad building
-
Good to see Vestegaard dropped. Thomas next please.
-
That answers nothing. It's two clear cut yellows, thats a red. The idea that there should be an increased threshold for a second yellow just doesn't make sense.
