some of the players need to make better choices that'll fix this at least twice Tuesday Ricardo had the chance to run forward at least 10-15 yards with the ball and pick a forward pass both times he stopped and turn back to Vestergaard and I'm sure other players will have done similar and you see the attacking players getting annoyed by it too, the plan itself is fine but when its on to go forward then need to do it, it'd also help us finish sides off
-
maybe they will move Sam Tierney back to CB, she signed as a defender
-
hasn't done enough to keep Fatawu out of the side now his ban is over but will be very useful off the bench and I'd like to see him in an 8 role at some point, maybe in the cup
-
not if the play was for him to be involved tonight, the weekend is probably more likely but I wouldn't rule tonight out

commentators kept going on about how experienced the ref was, kept thinking to myself every time that doesn't means she's good, O'Brien got booked for dissent but it didn't look like she did anything?
-
any noise about whether Bologna will take up their option?
-
triple sub, Rose, Howard and Bott on for Nevin, O'Brien and Green

15, I forget which of the 2 Japanese girls it is looks a really good addition to the base of midfield

Development/Youth Squads 2023/2024 Thread - U18/U21

at least one of those players were signed when already aged at least 20, I'm not sure about Silko Thomas' age, in Raikhy and many people that have watched him at U21 level think's he's pretty crap but either way both were signed this summer and being called our academy graduates is pathetic. Stolarczyk wasn't exactly a kid when he joined either. If the club truly are serious then they need to force Rudkin to give up his grip on the academy, its a full time job not one you split time on whilst also being the DoF. So many players look really good at U18 level for us then almost never feature for the U21s and never go on loan its a waste -

for years our U21 side was full of overage players as we tried to win it, Rudkin is very hands on with academy hence his old job never being filled, Beaglehole and Petty are his mates they do what he wants. if it was about developing talent a lot more would be out on loan and people like Reece Evans would be regulars in the U21s instead of still being in the U18s -
Finished 5-1 Everton scoring in the 96th min
-
Rantala 5-0
-
Man City 2-0
-
Either way a big win can only help the confidence levels
-
weird I'm sure the bbc website said West Ham earlier in any case Missy Goodwin has scored we're now 4-0 up
-
Man City are playing West Ham

he needed to show some leadership Monday night and grab hold of Faes and stop him being so far up field he was leaving gaping holes that kept causing us issues

I wonder if any u21 midfielders have been promoted given our depth issues currently -
Not true you can still give them an 8 year deal if you like but the amortization is limited to 5 years maximum

Replacement for a player we had no interest in playing isn't hard to find
-
its not just about amortisation of fees getting Praet's wages gone may have been the bigger benefit long term I'd need to look at what we were supposedly offered back then I know Torino weren't exactly being generous at the time either. No doubt there are other examples over recent years too

Palace bid £4m for Iversen in the summer we rejected it as we were demanding £6m, why? it left us stuck with a player that was never going to play depreciating in value for 4 months paying his wages and now all we could do was find a loan for him, how much did we have to pay him during that time, how much of his wages are we paying during his loan? Was it really worth it over £2m? I like that we play hardball over our stars but for players like this if the offer is reasonable take it.. How many offers for Praet have we rejected for a player we didn't want on a lot of money that we will lose for free this summer? Its just bad squad management and this all falls within Rudkin's remit, that's why people look at him

it would have been for serious foul play though not violent conduct
-
law of averages, how often when teams go ultra defensive does it actually work? he knows we can be lethal on the counter so 2 fast wingers with Cannon may have been all we needed to keep that attacking threat and lessen the defensive load
