Think it was Richard Tice on Laura Kuenssberg show this morning. He was asked about the elected MP that made the comments about 'melting Nigerians...' etc. Tice then scored a bit of an own goal by saying 'well the voters voted him in'. Just makes it sound like the voters could be as racist and bigoted as the MP and didn't actually do much to detract from the severity of the comments or that there was any wrongdoing.

From personal experience as well I tend to agree! I work for one that is doing really well by various counts and is quite reputable despite clear funding struggles. Scores well in several social care standards for one. Yet they've just voted out several councillors for reform ones...

Just looking at what BBC showed in Barnsley. They voted because it's different to Starmer. Some even saying that Labour 'weren't doing anything for the working class'. As if Farage would It's really weird seeing people's reasons for the Reform vote. It's anti-Labour/pro-change as opposed to a glowing reference for Farage or his ilk.

Aside from the obvious immigration stuff Reform rely on, what other policies have Reform got that are actually worth considering or mulling over?

I can't stand Starmer and he's ruined what could have been a good government. But that doesn't mean Reform is the answer even if something different is needed...

The amount of seats Labour have lost so far (with loads of seats still to be announced) surely opens the door for the Reform wave? It is/will be utterly depressing. I know it's a cliché on here for different reasons, but some should be careful what they wish for...

It might be a 'cut your nose off to spite your face' but I wonder if this round of elections actually opens up the reality of just how reform will run the country, and those who voted for them will realise they're not better off at all. Cutting immigration won't make a different to their daily lives or suddenly make them richer. NHS waiting lists won't change that much to a significant level, if there even is an NHS left. The people they've voted for will have richer lives; the people voting won't be any better off.

I doubt it. Media control everything and this just helps their cause getting more seats. Look at how many scandals or controversies they've had. Council tax thing in Kent (?) being one of them and that doesn't seem to have changed their course...
