Lost the ball a lot as he tried to take on defenders. Bad miss when it was 0-0 just before Barkley's goal. Hes inconsistent these days and perhaps needs some competition/break out of the side but thanks to terrible transfer business and a lack of a clear plan we haven't been able to replace him and give him a break. Agree he's not a big problem but when you need effective wingers, he's not doing much.

The board should hand them a mirror as they ask the question and see if they can cotton on...

Why is 38 points the barometer? Given the quality of the league and how few points already in place by this stage from the bottom 3/4, it'll take a lot less to survive. And it'll be all the more embarrassing that we get relegated with that being the case. I think it'll be 30 points max to survive. Which means we're looking at 5 wins and a draw. From somewhere. I can only pinpoint the next couple of home league games, Ipswich at home, Southampton at home and maybe sneaking an away win from somewhere for those victories. I genuinely don't see where we get other points from right now.

Their errors are nowhere near as bad as Justin's dallying and delaying on the ball preceding it. I get this point but there comes a time where initiative needs to be used as well? Also, coaching instructions - is this only to pass to Ayew? Why not play the easy ball as the instruction ie to keeper, Coady, Winks...? I can't imagine the instruction is to wait to pass to Ayew all the time.

Again, you're ignoring the moments before Justin gets into a position he can't defend for. Yes, Faes could have blocked Bailey for the goal. Granted. But again, ironically you're absolving Justin from blame but in the same breath, ignoring what happens before he gets himself into a precarious position? Why has Justin not passed the ball earlier? Why has he hesitated for so long and decided not to a) pass it to someone or b) smash it long or out of play? What's one on one battles got to do with it? No one is arguing that part of defending? I don't like scapegoat and it's not about looking for someone to blame. It's highlighting Justin's severe shortcomings and regular mistakes leading to goals for the opposition.

For real? Literally just kick it out. Even when under pressure, kick the ball out. Pass to Stolarczyk, Coady, Winks. Not get backed into a corner and play to Ayew who's being chased down by the press. He had countless opportunities, as a human footballer, to do anything but do what he ended up doing.

As much as the header wasn't the best, you'd kind of want to expect at least one of your teammates to be alert to someone hanging around at the edge of the box. Need to watch it back again but where were any of our midfielders? Where's the anticipation from other players to be aware of the potential danger?
