The eligibility to be president is not set on the amount of times you have been president before. It says you can't run to be president for a 3rd time. Doesn't say the person who has been president twice can't then be VP. 12 amendment is written like most US amendments, with a lot of wiggle room.

He can still go on a VP ticket. Amendment says he cant run for a 3rd presidential term, but not that he couldn't serve a 3rd if Vance, or whichever lacky went for it, stood down.

He will get behind vance then vance will take the oath with Trump as vice president then step aside for whatever reason and leave the VP in charge. Only way he could do it without a changing the constitution.
