Wymsey Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 The chopping and changing in the sport is ridiculous. Don't think clubs like Leeds, Watford and Newcastle appreciate and understand the potential benefits of managerial consistency.

I'll admit it's hardly ideal, but at least this guy's had some decent managerial experience, perhaps not in England but at least he's been around Spain and not Bulgaria!
reids Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Hardly comparable, is it? We're talking one season in the top flight compared to roughly six to seven (Spain & Portugal). You're right, it's not really comparable. Flores blows (not in a Thai hotel way) Pearson out the water. Big Nige is a year older than Flores as well, so can't really use managerial naivety to defend his record this season.

Steve Bruce is 2 1/2 years older than Nigel Pearson and just got relegated with Hull. Harry Redknapp is more than 16 years older than Pearson and looks like he's finally been found out at QPR. Sean Dyche is eight years younger, though remains his own market leader. So, what's age got to do with it?

Before pearsons latest stint, we ourselves had a colossal amount of managers, in a short space of time. All were pretty shit, consistency is only good if you have the right man in charge.
Guest Bilo Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Felix Magath had a good record in Germany before Fulham.
