Langley Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Watford search for fifth manager in 10 months after sacking Slavisa Jokanovic The manager who got them promoted to Premier League pays ultimate price as Watford search for new head coach http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/watford/11630165/Watford-search-for-fifth-manager-in-10-months-after-sacking-Slavisa-Jokanovic.html Win promotion and you get sacked? Joke of a club.
Super_horns Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Don't think he was sacked! He was out of contract and refused to sign another one. Dispute over wages and length of contract.
Christoph Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Wait what?! How can you sack a manager who got you promoted...automatically?! This a joke or something
Stadt Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Tbf one manager resigned due to health reasons and another just quit out of the blue.
Super_horns Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 That is right and Zola quit too... I agree the McKinkay stuff was badly handled though.
kingcarr21 Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 He wasnt sacked there was a disagreement over a new contract apparantely. A disruptive summer could be the downfall of Watford. Could Allardyce, McClaren or Di Matteo be interested i wonder
ozleicester Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 i would tip Mcclaren will get it.... but its Watford, so....
Guest Bilo Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 I don't expect that to be the last departure from Vicarage Road before May 2016, not by a long shot. The instability is probably what's most likely to cost them next season, they were fortunate to get away with it this season. i would tip Mcclaren will get it.... but its Watford, so.... Di Matteo has just been sacked by Schalke and has PL experience. I wouldn't be too surprised.
aefevans Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Jokanovic was offered an improved contract after the last game of the season, which he turned down. His family lives in Spain and he probably wants more money to uproot them. He's also recently traded-in his Serbian agent for an English one, who's probably told him to hold out for more money. His contract is due to expire next month anyway, so he wasn't sacked, as such.
BoyJones Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Jokanvic would know its going to be a long hard season next year. With watfords record of getting rid / losing managers, probably thought time to go.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Di Matteo going there would be good for us, absolute fraud
Sharpe's Fox Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Hopefully they go for some contininental shitebag who hasn't got a clue, and not someone like Big Sam.
Captain... Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 They should go for Allardyce or McLaren, I can see one of them ending up at Brentford, but they will probably pluck some obscure European coach, I get the impression they want a head coach rather than a manager.
Super_horns Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Don't Brentford want to go down the more European head coach route hence Warburton leaving.. Just feel sorry for the players - another manager they will have to get used to and unlike in the Championship you won't get away with a slow start/bad run as such. Was thinking a bloke who managed a top team in Spain is hardly going to come for nothing and will want assurances himself...
MC Prussian Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 who? Can't see any of the Top ten teams in Spain wanting to lose their manager/head coach to Watford. Vallecano's Paco could be a candidate, though. What if Watford would expand their "loanee" strategy to managers, as well? But seeing that Granada just recently appointed a new manager in Sandoval, that'll remain unlikely.
ChuckLCFC Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 They are signing Quique Sanchez Flores from Getafe apparently, generic Spanish mediocrity
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 They are signing Quique Sanchez Flores from Getafe apparently, generic Spanish mediocrity Apparently very respected in the game, talks to the media and has played at the very top level. We'll see I guess.
reids Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 They are signing Quique Sanchez Flores from Getafe apparently, generic Spanish mediocrity What? The guys won the Europa League and the Portugese version of the league cup... He averaged a league win % of 42.65% with Atletico and 42.86% with Getafe this season. Big Niges top flight win record with Leicester? 28.94%

We're talking one season in the top flight compared to roughly six to seven (Spain & Portugal).
