andy_croydz Posted 5 September 2005 Posted 5 September 2005 Has anyone got this album? I personally have always liked coldplay and have downloaded some songs off their new album like... Speed of sound, Low and Fix You along with some of thier older ones like... Clocks, Yellow etc so has anyone got the new album and reccomend me buying it?
Matt Posted 5 September 2005 Posted 5 September 2005 Ask Matt Yep buy it! Actually don't buy it because i've heard a rumour (Which I can't actually believe myself) that if this album becomes the best selling coldplay album the band may consider making this the last album that rumour I read on the Official Coldplay forum but as I said I don't think I can believe that rumour myself! Anyway it is a good album but I don't think its there best it has some songs that will become classic's and there is probably better individual songs on this album but I think the previous 2 albums on a whole are better, If your a major Coldplay fan you'll like it, if your not i'd probably stick to the other two albums.

Joe Posted 6 September 2005 Posted 6 September 2005 You should have bought it ages ago! Seriously, here's my take on Coldplay's music: I bought Parachutes as soon as I heard Trouble and think this was an instant love of mine. Played it to death. I got Rush of Blood to the Head on the day it was released, and absolutely hated it, although it has perhaps their best song (In My Place) and some other good ones. Ironically I detest Clocks, which was a major break for them in the USA. I bought X&Y the day it was released too (well, Speed of Sound is excellent, and I hoped it was going to be better than their second album) and guess what? I hated it, but not for long. There were one or two songs I really liked and so I kept it in the CD player and after about the 5th play I really got hooked! Each song is brilliant, and I now rate it their best album yet. Fav tracks: Talk, The Hardest Part Least Fav: Til Kingdom Come (hidden last track) BUY IT NOW!

I bought A Rush Of Blood To The Head the day it was released and I also didn't like it that much but then I listen to it again and again and I started love it, I then bought Parachutes and also loved that, then I bought X and Y on they day of release and I like it but its not blown me away but I do really like it! As I have said in the past I can't pick the worst Coldplay album but at the same time I can't pick the best...
The People's Hero Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Good band. They're no Bob Dylan though...
BenFilbert Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 I got it the day it came out and it's amazing. It's one of those albums that you can listen to all the way through. Every song has moments that are brilliant! I need to go and see them live.
Alexikokopops Posted 8 September 2005 Posted 8 September 2005 Good band. They're no Bob Dylan though... That's because Bob Dylan is the coolest mother****er that ever lived.
cisono Posted 8 September 2005 Posted 8 September 2005 I like Coldplay. But then I don't play music too often, so don't usually get a chance to get fed up with something.
cisono Posted 8 September 2005 Posted 8 September 2005 ... prefer music that makes me feel happy now Well, I can relate to that too!!! Therapeutic uses of music
BenFilbert Posted 8 September 2005 Posted 8 September 2005 i too was a fan, until they bored me to death with dull music, prefer music that makes me feel happy now I like music that makes me feel happy too. That's why i listen to Coldplay.
