Getting caught on the break.

Not really a negative, but just a little bit of thought on where we can improve.....

Since the beginning of our 'Great escape' and the start of this season, i can only remember ourselves conceding 1 goal to a counter attack....and that was last week with Gil against Villa.

An old footballing cliche is the best form of defence is attack, and it certainly is in our case. Claudio in the first half, upon reflection has got it wrong against bournemouth, villa and now stoke.

We are brilliant on the counter....but only when we press to win the ball back as opose to retaining our shape very deep. Our players are far better on the front foot than on the back.

Great start so far.....not trying to be negative, but like all we must aim to improve every week, otherwise standing still in this league takes you back a couple of steps and turns you into a sunderland/newcastle/villa.

352! Get Wasyl back in alongside Huth & Morgan. Huth not looking anywhere near as solid as in that formation under NP

We also can't hold the ball up too well to allow more players to join in the attack, turning possession over too easily, allowing us to be attacked more. Ulloa is a sure fire starter for me

Totally agree.

Just the sheer presence up top just helps so much as opose to okazaki. We have enough pace in the team, de laet, schlupp, kante, albrighton, mahrez, vardy etc.....we need another option in the XI

I can only imagine that Ranieri is hoping we keep a clean sheet first half and go on the offensive as we have been in the second half. Not sure what other reason he'd have for persisting with playing a team that concedes first half then changing to the same team for the second half that seems to much stronger.

I'm afraid we can't press high for the whole game. If we were able to keep the ball then it would be ok as we could get our breath back but once we get it we always try and do something positive which leads to a chance or a loss of possession. you have to choose your moment to press, especially high.

Remember that our home games in that run in were generally against sides with nothing to play for. that small lack of appetite makes a huge difference. it's not the same now. We have to be a bit more cute. Chelsea - we pressed for the first hour but then ran out of steam. Yes we lost a couple of players to injury but you just can't do it for 90 mins. look what happened to villa when they ran out of gas last week.

I would be interested to see a 3-5-2 again and how it would work but unless things go very badly, I don't think we'll see it.

I'm not sure the Italian psyche would object to a 10-0-0 formation so long as the ref somehow gave them a penalty to slot home, so expecting a 3-5-2 is about as likely as Corbyn hosting a garden party for the Queen.

But Wasyl did have a presence. My youngest son works with Poles and is in awe of them. Says they mend cars with their teeth. drink vodka like pop and never eat elephant cos they don't bother with snacks.

When people mention "hard" it's for real with the Poles. Anything above minus 20 is a warm day in the Polish winter of some parts and that with the nearest shop a distance beyond the horizon.

So I'd love to see Wasyl back just so we can boast the most intimidating back three in Britain and even if we concede two goals without reply we can still win by two falls, two submissions and a Mahrez-Knockaert! :D
