Katy Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 ... bananas on toast? Im finding it nice this morning, im trying to eat better as im sick of feeling ill all the time. 2 slices of wholemeal toast and an organic banana actually rocks
Nationwider Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 I like bananas, but don't eat them anymore as I have to watch my potassium intake. I'll take the toast on its own, ta.

Katy Posted 9 September 2005 Author Posted 9 September 2005 Banana is the fruit of the Devil They were until I did a bit of 'food combining' I wouldnt eat them on their own to be fair.
shen Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Bananas RULE! ...can't say I've tried it on toast though
Scow Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Bananas are pretty much a no no for me. I'd eat one if I had to, but not through choice. Interesting combination though, Kateh.
Anish Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Banana's are cool - unlike most other fruits they don't have juice in them so you can't get your hands all sticky after eating them
Guest Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Bananas are like an emetic as far as I am concerned. I cannot stress enough the total and utter disgustingness of them Whoever decided that the banana was edible would be shot, if they were alive. I might invent a time machine and do it any way. That's how strongly I feel.
cisono Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 ... bananas on toast? Im finding it nice this morning, im trying to eat better as im sick of feeling ill all the time. 2 slices of wholemeal toast and an organic banana actually rocks Nutritionally speaking, there is not much protein in that breakfast... How long does it "sustain" you for? (If I ate that, I would probably be hungry within a short time...) On the other hand, we are different, so if it works for you In general, it is probably best to vary breakfast most days... (which I find difficult myself)
Katy Posted 9 September 2005 Author Posted 9 September 2005 Anyone got any sensible cures for hideous persistant nosebleeds?
davieG Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Banana's are the perfect copnvenience food, they come with an easy, environmentally friendly, yet fully protective package, ready to eat, no mess and full of goodness for most people. Yum yum. Not had them on toast, but they go nice with my muesli, weetabix, and other cerials, mixed nuts, fresh fruit, selceted from strawberry, figs, lychees, blueberries, kiwi, mango, melon, pink grapefruit, grapes, peaches, plums etc topped with fresh filtered, organic milk and a spoon of malt/cod liver oil. Sets you up nicely for the day ahead

(which I find difficult myself) Protein wasnt at the forefront of my mind when I plumped for this, Im not hungry even now which I would have been normally but as I mentioned earlier bananas give me headaches, which i thought I was safe from earlier but now I have one as well as my third nosebleed in 24 hrs grrrr! Edit: I havent had a nosebleed for years but now I cant stop having them!
davieG Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Anyone got any sensible cures for hideous persistant nosebleeds? Cauterising

That's actually my late breakfast, or lunch, if you wish to call it that... about now in fact
Hitesh Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 No...ew...bananas on toast! And im already feeling rough this morning! I guess its not bad if you have the taste for it but im not a great fan of bananas to start with. Not to keen on the soft banana feeling on the crunchy toast.
cisono Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Cauterising Effective but possibly excessive measure
cisono Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Of course, bananas and chocolate spread (or melted chocolate) on toast is a classic (if indulgent and somewhat rich) mid-afternoon snack!
Katy Posted 9 September 2005 Author Posted 9 September 2005 Cauterising I think that will be if all else fails thanks Davie!
Hitesh Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Katassi....do you slice them or mash em up when you put it on toast?
Nationwider Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Bananas are pretty much a no no for me. I'd eat one if I had to, but not through choice. Interesting combination though, Kateh. Has this disturbing scenario ever arisen? Have you been forced at banana-point to eat one??
Nationwider Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Katassi....do you slice them or mash em up when you put it on toast? The suspense is killing me.
Scow Posted 9 September 2005 Posted 9 September 2005 Has this disturbing scenario ever arisen? Have you been forced at banana-point to eat one?? Nope, and I hope it never does.
Katy Posted 9 September 2005 Author Posted 9 September 2005 Katassi....do you slice them or mash em up when you put it on toast? Just slice them really its just on kingsmill wholemeal medium sliced bread with butter of course and it was very very nice but im paying for it now but at least its staved off hunger until lunch which nothing else seems to.
