Anyone Here With Knowledge of South France?

We're stopping at a camp site called Pascalounet in the Martigues region. I'm looking for transport links from the campsite to Marseille but can only find a bus option on Rome2Rio's website.

I also wonder if there are boats that go from the Martigues south coast to Marseille?

Thanks in advance of any useful info

Looking at Google Maps it seems there's a train station near to your campsite - La Couronne-Carro.

If you have a look on the French railway company's website ( www.sncf.fr ) you'll be able to find out railway times.

EDIT: In fact I've just had a look for you. There are direct trains to Marseille St Charles, which take about 45 mins.

Just picked up on your post...

I know the area rather well, but a few yrs (8) gone.

Trains ca every 20 mins, but do not run so late.

Busses yes.

Boats yes or used to be and private hire.

Suggestion:- Call or mail your camp site, usually know such details

..... Tourist info Martigues.or Marseilles.

It is easy today to get detailed info. Some brits seem too reserved to contact the obvious info quelle.

All campsites at least after easter, will have English speaking staff....Mailing they will find translators..

I have camped from the pyrenees to menton through to Italy.

Boat charters, can be bartered from private as well .I presume you dont want to drive around to Marseille.
