Ground out an important result tonight, Kante & Huth with 9s from me, Simpson & Morgan 8s, 7s & 6s for the rest but a lower mark for Drinkwater as he was just not on his game last night, poor passes and not his usual self and not sure how they awarded him MOTM to be honest....

Up the City.....

Can't believe some of the marks for Kante on here. Only an 8? We are privileged to be watching the finest defensive central midfielder I've ever seen in a Leicester shirt, who particularly in the second half was holding the entire midfield together when those around him were not at their best. Huth and Simpson also stood out but Kante was magnificent.

I would say Kante, Simpson or Huth were my MOTM contenders. Others did well however.

Ranieri -9- Spot on again with substitutions. Also pleased with the way he sorted the team out at half time to make us more compact. Very impressed.

Kasper -7- Look confident and dealt with everything. Distribution slightly better than of late, but he's in good form and his spirit and passion are superb.

Simpson -8- Excellent match. Can't really remember him making a mistake. Really stepped up this season. Close for MOTM.

Morgan -6.5- Looked a bit shaky to me. Didn't exude his usual confidence. We need him sharp at Palace because they have real threat.

Huth -7.5- Solid as a rock. Does the simple things, but he does them so well. A real defender. What a signing he's been.

Fuchs -7- Better than of late. Seemed to gain confidence as the game went on. Great to see him dominate Townsend as I was convinced he was going to score!

Mahrez -7- Thought he battled really well and deserves this rating because of that. Not as creative as usual, but still nice touches.

Drinkwater -6- Always involved, but I didn't understand how he got MOTM as there were better players on the pitch.

Kante -9- MOTM. Everywhere. His interceptions are breathtaking at times. He's here, there and every f***ing where!

Albrighton -7- What a shame is excellent run and shot didn't result in a goal. Worked so hard as usual and deserves a 7.

Okazaki -7- I've been saying he must step up and score more with the chances he gets. No complaints about his work rate in any match though. Great goal, but not as good as his namesake goal (Shin/knee) he scored up at their place!

Vardy -7- Endless running, but again marked out of the match for long periods. Taylor was scared stiff of him! Hope he gets his 20th (and 21st, and 22nd) against Palace. His passion, spirit and desire is what this team are all about.

Subs:

Schlupp -6- Always like to see him coming on towards the end, as defenders must dread his speed. Didn't do too much last night though.

Ulloa -7- I've been saying for ages that Ulloa is a great sub to come on late. He offers so much more than just another option up front, as his heading is excellent in defense. Still can't understand why Ranieri didn't bring him on against Arsenal instead of Gray.

Officials -6- Thought they got most things right.

Newcastle -5- Although I expected a tough match, I didn't think they looked much, but certainly had a better attitude than of late, and maybe deserved a draw. If they lose to Sunderland they really will be in trouble and their saviour may be in for a very short managerial spell.

So, on we go. 8 matches left and each one gets tougher (especially on my nerves!). I reckon 5 more wins. Palace will be very tough as they have genuine threats up front and remember Pardew said they would be up for it after their defeat at the KP. Win that and hope spuds get held by an excellent Bournmouth side and we'll be 7 points clear with 7 to play. Fingers crossed! But I'm certainly not counting my chickens just yet. Keep your feet on the ground as football has a way of kicking you in the teeth.

Kasper  7   Good to see him come out and catch a couple of crosses

Simpson  7  Good performance...will be interesting to see how he copes  with Bolasie

Morgan 7  Good strong defending ... love when he shows he also has some subtle skills when going forward

Huth  7  Love it when he just kicks the ball out of play when there is any doubt

Fuchs 7  Solid performance...again looking forward to seeing him up against Zaha

Mahrez  6   Mainly based on his defending !

Drinkwater 5  gave away possession too many times...but hey every player has a below par performance occasionally

Kante  8   Can only assume Sky didnt give him MOTM because they thought he wouldnt be able to do a decent interview

Albrighton  6  Some good defending, but also gave the ball away too easily

Okazaki  7 Took his goal brilliantly...he seems to do better in front of goal when he doesnt have time to think

Vardy  7   Has become a more intelligent player, choses his moments to make his runs or instead link up play

Ulloa 7  Much more confident re our defending in the air when hes on the pitch

Schlupp  6  Unpredictable , but then again that can unsettle a lot of teams ...stay as you are Jeff

Raneiri 7  Shame he had to try and raise the noise level from the crowd near the end...but i can understand the crowd being more than a little nervous at that point

Not exactly like mine but sums up what I think also. Kante and Ranieri get the highest marks...Kante because he is just so good, Ranieri bacause a manager is usually responsible for these matches when the players are off. He ground another one out. I thought the goal from Okazaki merits a high score (notwithstanding).

Drinkwater MOTM!?! R kidding me?!

That was the worst performance by DD imo. Everytime he touches the ball it's lost! .. What game were u watching SS! His rating is what he holds in his back no more. But the guy worked hard and tried though.
