Filbert1962 Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Just received 2 letters from the club (1 for me and 1 for my son) telling me that we have to move seats next season because the TV gantry in the East Stand is being extended to comply with UEFA regulations for European fixtures. This affects anyone who sits in the last three rows of Blocks H, J1, J2 and J3 (anyone know how many this is?). I am gutted. I love these seats and can't think that we will get comparable ones where we can sit together with our friends. Does anyone have an idea where our relocations options might be?
anotherharboroughfox Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 SK1!Also this happened to my mate a couple of seasons ago and he got a fair few priority points whacked on to his ST for his trouble.
Merging Cultures Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 My dad and Bro are affected. J2 right in half way line. Disgusting IMO. They have the best seats, best not be screwed. My bro is down there now.
Lcfcwigstonblue Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Unfortunately there are lots of rules and regulations that come with qualifying for the Champions league. Nothing the club can do about it I'm afraid.

Merging Cultures Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Sounds like they are being moved ten yards towards the KOP and will be the last row.
Merging Cultures Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 What would you have them do?I don't know, but it is really annoying having to give up a spot right in half way to cram more TV crews in there. Especially as it is likely to just be one season in CL really.
Merging Cultures Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 I hope there is a guarantee to have first dibs on the seats for the following season if we don't make CL again.

Especially as it is likely to just be one season in CL really. Yeah I can see why it's annoying. Unfortunately this is one of the things the club has to comply with if we want to play in the CL. The disgusting comment was a bit misplaced in light of that imo. Anyway, hopefully they make it worth your while and give you dibs for the following season as you say
stevelcfc Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Happened to me too. Absolutely gutted, why we have to wait till the family stand relocate is a bit frustrating and of course the £5 relocation charge. Love the seats, made good mates with the guys around but the biggest problem is it's also splitting up the family as i'm on the last row being moved and their on the row in front. There is no chnace they'll relocate us to a similar area as its all STH around us meaning we'll lose the ability to be in a part that creates the atmosphere. No doubt they'll bung us in the front row of the JTT.

Anyway, hopefully they make it worth your while and give you dibs for the following season as you say Haha well, it is disgusting if you've had the seats for a while and have paid a pretty penny for the privilege and just because there will be a few more TV cameras want to turn up people have to give up their seats.

As above though, it's not like the club have just decided they will do this for a laugh. If we want to play in the CL then we don't have a choice, sadly

Really don't understand how moving the gantry forward increases the amount of cameras. Still the same number of mounts.

Merging Cultures Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 Bro is well annoyed. No guarantee of equivalent quality seats. I guess we'll see lots of teams passing the ball around at the back though.
Woollett's Wellies Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 I've just heard from a mate that this is going to happen. I haven't received a letter yet. Eight of us have been sitting together for years in J1 so we'll all be moved. My mate mentioned it says something about those being relocated will get a choice around the middle of may! (He did say it wasn't very clear). If so, that's even worse than I thought! I'd have thought it might be an idea to give those who are long term ST holders a preference over those who have recently taken them up but that doesn't seem to be the case. Not surprised though!

The letter says that "Priority Relocation" dates for those affected will be May 18th, 19th & 20th. Just wondering where they can put 5 of us together with a similar view to what we currently have....
Woollett's Wellies Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 18th of May we have to wait till, its priority period for those affected. Though it happens to be when all relocation opens so how its a priority I have no idea. So it's true! That's really crap! So fan loyalty get's rewarded by being put to the back of the queue! I thought he might have misunderstood. Speaking as someone who has been supporting my home town team since Matt Gillies was the manager I'm really dissapointed with this! Sounds like the ticket office are taking the easy way out of this and just screwing over the people in the back rows. It wouldn't require much thought to give preference to people who are longer term season ticket holders. In terms of length of ST holdership I bet a number of the people around me have considerable time over me but they're getting the same options. Poor, Poor work ticket office!
Merging Cultures Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 They know where the STs are and what spaces are available. They should let people being moved just pick now. I doubt many people are giving up STs this year, so it isn't like they have to wait for that.
lcfclcfc1 Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 This happened to me two seasons ago when they decided to put a TV area in the corner in section G1 Was upset as has been said before on here you make friends in your sections and when your locate or get moved you can never get seats near to each other. . Only thing the club offered was a free ticket to a pre season friendly eventually got ticket and a £10 voucher!! New seat was nowhere near as good in SK1 so this season relocated to close to original area. Most annoying thing is in 2 seasons the TV area has only been used about 5 times!
LJS Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 My dad and Bro are affected. J2 right in half way line. Disgusting IMO. They have the best seats, best not be screwed. My bro is down there now. Me too. I'm quite lucky as I go alone and based on the phone conversation I've had with the ticket office this morning getting something comparable won't be a huge issue. If it is I might look at relocating to the posh seats.
