Wymsey Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Referees not being allowed to be interviewed by the media, straight after a game, particularly if they make controversial decisions.
Nalis Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 The media referring to 'International level' as if international level is the pinnacle. Used to be but a load of bullshit now. Don't get my wrong, I love Northern Ireland, the Euros, World Cup, national pride, international fans and tournament feel but the quality is light years behind club football and has been for a while. Club football is more exciting, more entertaining and has more quality than international football. Completely shits over the theory that Messi and Ronaldo can't be considered greats because they haven't (and probably wont) win the World Cup.
DB11 Posted 28 June 2016 Posted 28 June 2016 Referees not being allowed to be interviewed by the media, straight after a game, particularly if they make controversial decisions. Would you do the job if after every game you had to publicly justify everything you did? A lot of decisions that match officials give are "in the opinion of the referee" therefore if people have differing opinions there's never going to be a right/wrong and it's just going to be a mud throwing contest at the referee in a public forum. Then the only people that would referee in the top division would be those that could handle the media etc. rather than those that are best for the job
