Guest CityFan 06 Posted 19 July 2016 Posted 19 July 2016 This is why I'm not overly concerned IF we do not bring in another CM. I think Amartey could be great for us. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't turn down another new CM, but I reckon we can manage if not. Should Inler and James move on, then yes I'd probably say we need a reinforcement or two in this position. Mendy, Drinkwater, King, Amartey + Inler and James potentially. There's some healthy options there. Let's say we play 4-4-3, the centre midfield could be Drinkwater & Mendy, with Amartey in the CDM role. Or similarly, Drinkwater & Mendy with King in the CAM role. If we were to play 4-4-2, again there are plenty of in-depth options for us to play. I'm intrigued to see Gray play next season, as he looks a real star. This is why I created the thread because for me, Gray and Amartey could be potential standouts for us.
foxes21 Posted 20 July 2016 Posted 20 July 2016 Thinking about it, Amartey at RB makes sense. Our team last year was built on partnerships, Fuchs & Albrighton, Simpson & Mahrez, etc. If schlupp moves to RW like he did yesterday, Amartey & Schlupp would compliment each other very well down that right hand side. Then we'd have even more partnerships, in back up.. Amartey & Schlupp, Chilwell & Gray etc.
