Gray & Amartey

It gets mentioned about who could really shine for us next season and I think these two will. Gray has shown us some Mahrez-like ability in his displays thus far, skillful but also sensible and mature on the ball. Amartey is ideal for utility, meaning what @@foxes21 said about a potential formation change, he could be really useful for us in his adaptability. His performances have been steady, he's done well in the positions he's played so far & even nearly scored himself a goal v Sunderland (a). I still feel we will see his best to come.

It must be beneficial for Gray in particular, being around the likes of Mahrez, Schlupp & Albrighton. He's learning from them, and developing ever so well into the league. Sometimes players look suited to Premiership football, they look suited to the level, this is Gray IMO. As similarly with Amartey, he's around players of quality who he can learn from to develop his game - Drinkwater, King, Inler and now Mendy. Of course, It's not just a case of Gray and Amartey learning from others, but others will learn from them.

Any other players who might shine for us?

Starting to Wonder where Dan actually fits in. Can't see him getting a huge amount of game time, other than his stint at right back I thought he looked composed, good on the ball and a decent all round player, from the little we saw.

reckon okazaki will have a stormer of a season if he's not playing #10

If we're playing 4-3-3 he won't be playing. lol

I keep forgetting about Amartey, I hope he's given a chance as he looks class from what I've seen of him. There aren't too many we've not given a fair chance in recent years and regretted it but I hope he makes an impact. Has the attributes to be a real star.

It's strange how a season pans out sometimes.  Who would have thought, at the start of last season, that Simpson would have featured so much, let alone becoming an integral part of our defence and very much part of the first choice 11.

If Amartey starts he'll be our player of the season. He's got real quality. I'm hoping we get to see him in a midfield three with Kante and either Drinky or Mendy

I've thought this too. In a midfield three I think he could be excellent, looks like he has the energy which is important in the middle of the park. Kante, Mendy, Drinkwater and Amartey would compliment each other ever so well.

Can't see gray starting many games next season but hopefully he will continue to develop with us and do well when he comes on like he did towards the end of this season. The question with Amarty is will he be able to break into the team and hold down a position or will he be used as a utility player

It depends on a lot, if we look at last season everyone got their chance to stake a claim for a starting place, some took it, Fuchs, Kante, Simpson, some didn't Inler, Benalouane, Kramaric if Claudio is going to have the same philosophy then it could be difficult for these 2 to break in especially with the signings we are making...

But is Claudio going to go full on tinker mode? He still loves a tinker and with a bigger squad the CL and 2 domestic cups to compete in and the EFL we may even end up in the Europa League and could go quite far in all these competitions, add to that the AFCON, possibly good for Gray with Mahrez going and bad for Amartey if he gets called up. We also have a lot more internationals with Kante and King still at the Euros, and many others travelling and competing through out the year, it could be that rotation is the order of next season. In which case they will have plenty of chances to shine, but must be prepared to be in and out the team.

Gray, Amartey and Chilwell are all £5-10 million players who have not really had a chance to show what they can do in the first team yet, but they seem ready. Most January signings at clubs get a chance and either pan out or bust.  Ours didn't have much of a chance to do either because of the title run and settled XI. Therefore, they are like 3 new signings.

Everybody says we have our work cut out to field a larger squad for next year, but we are in better shape than most realize when you consider the longer view of our business.

Amartey seems like someone who will be a bit of a Swiss Army knife for the club. A preseason and a full year in our system will do him wonders. I expect a leap from Gray, Shinji, Amartey, Chillwell...

I think both will heavily feature this season.

I've mentioned it before but I think we was very clever in the Jan window, we had a solid foundation and nothing to lose with a plan for more games this season.

Both players have had game time experience without much expectation and plenty of time to settle in. Both players offer something that we already have and are pretty flexible with positions to add depth to the squad as a whole. Both are young and seem to have promising futures too.

The one thing we got away with last season was any significant amount of injuries. I think this season with all the extra games to play we will inevitably get more injuries . This will give chance to the fringe players to stake their claim to the first team .

If chilwell stays with us I expect him to grab his chance when it comes and I've seen enough of Gray  to know he will be a star this season and not just one for the future. Both of these players as well as Amartey would have walked into any Leicester side over the past ten years and shows just how far as a club we have come . Next season is going to be a big revelation not only to the public but to us the fans as well. We have never had it so good .

Am I the only one who doesn't think the title rhymes?

I think it's just the ending bit I suppose - 'ay' amartey.'

Didn't notice the rhyming myself though at first.

As I believe Scouse has already pointed out, the chant 'Amartey and Demarai Gray' needs fashioning to Miley Cyrus' timeless smash hit 'Party in the USA'.
