Ian Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 Ok we are 6 games in and Micky has tried lots of players in and out of position, but we must get a settled side sooner rather then later or we will end up like last year and not know our best 11 till well past christmas. We all have to stop calling for changes week in and week out as soon as someone has a bad game so here goes this is my "Dream team" Walker : No Brainer. Makin : Best Right back by a mile if you class Canero as a midfielder Keown : We have to have his leadership out there. Dabizas : Better than Heath as his distributuion is better. Jordan : Has the talent as he showed in the first 15mins on Monday but must be more consistant. Scowy: Always trys hard and wins virtually all the headers. Started scoring as well. Nalis : Great vision in midfield and should not have been dropped. Gemmill : Looks solid when he's come on better than other options. Tiatto : Best player this season. Connolly : Proven goal scorer. Works hard and creates chances. He needs the first goal. Benji : Because he is honest and gives 100% If Dublin sorts his S*** our or Wright takes his chance then they are more natural goal scorers and should get the place but untill then at least you know you will get 100% effort from the lad. Bench: Pieman : No Choice Heath : Still learning must improve his distribution Canero : Great player either right back or Right Midfield Dublin : Has to pull his finger out but should come up with th goods. Versitile as well. Williams : Would like to see him earn his place. Probably our best set peice taker so i was torn between him and gemmill. As he gets into the season i would like to think he will replace gemmill. This is based on what i have seen so far this season. The weak areas for me are left back as neither Jordan or Wilcox are consistent enough IMO and dare i say it strikers but i would be happy to see Wright given a chance to see if hes up to it. I am not part of the group that thinks Wright is the answer to all our prayers as quite frankly he failed to shine when put out on loan but he is a Leiceter lad and always gives 100% and therefore deserves his chance. Rotherham is a crunch game anyone going?
Ric Flair Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 How on earth can you say Benji warrants a starting place? Honestly the man is awful, fair enough he got us three points at Derby but it will take alot more than that to erase the abysmal performances he has put in. Also an interesting story you might want to hear is that Nathan Blake was out on the piss until 4 in the morning last friday night! We can't continue to play 4-4-2 our best 11 players fit in to a wing-back system. Walker - No contest Makin - Looked steady, but Canero might be a better wingback. Dabizas - Shit, but we only have three centre halves. Heath - Shit, but we only have three centre halves Keown - Steady eddie, but obviously we have to use him sparingly. Stearman to replace Keown when he's knackered. Tiatto - Amazing, best player i've seen in a City shirt for a long time. Nalis - Passing is second to none Gudjonsson - Looked rusty, but in a three man midfield he'd do well Williams - The long ball doesn't suit him, but Forest talk highly of him. We must play to his strengths. Connolly - His record speaks for itself, again we have to play to his strengths. Scowcroft - Has to play upfront if anywhere, useful in this division. Subs: Stearman, Dublin, Gemmill, Canero, Stewart

Take on board your point about Scowy, if he goes up front in place of Benji then canero on the right and Benji on the bench. Gudjonssen for me has shown nothing so far this season i thought he would be far better than he has shown. Jury out for me i am afraid.
Guest freund Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 yes I'm going to rotherham I like Hoofs idea of wing backs, but I'd probably put Gemmill in there somewhere (probably in place of Williams)
Ash Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 Walker- Great Goalkeeper on his day Makin- Best right back we have , Strong few games he has had Dabizas- Also a good player on his day Keown-His experience will prove vital for us Stewart- Stewart his pace and skill , Needs to use it more though Scowcroft- Brilliant in the air , Always a thread for defenders Williams- He will come good , Will be one of the best players we have Gudjonsson-Great passing ability, Good Shot, Good experience Tiatto- Works every ball possible , Always gets stuck in Connolly- Once he gets 1 he will be on fire Dublin- Great in the air , 1 Goal will get him started Bench Pressman- Good Experience, Good back up Wright- Youth on then bench , Better than Benji & Blake ,Give him a chance Gemmill- Works hard , Good at creating Heath- Good in the air , but too nervous on the ball ,also too much hoofing Canero- Very fast , but not match fit
Teeno Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 Walker Canero Keown Dabizas Makin Scowcroft Nalis Gudjohnsson Tiatto Benji Wright Bench: Pie man, Heath, Gemmill, Connolly, Dublin. The strike force may look dodgy but the one at the minuite aint working so the simple answer is change it. No Stewart in the team please, he's pants.
Mark Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 Walker Makin Keown Heath Stewart Canero Dawson Nalis Tiatto Connolly Wright Bench: Presman, Stearman, Gudjonsson, Dabizas, Wesolowski
Ash Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 WalkerMakin Keown Heath Stewart Canero Dawson Nalis Tiatto Connolly Wright Bench: Presman, Stearman, Gudjonsson, Dabizas, Wesolowski 16447 Good team i like it , Apart from Heath
Eastern Fox Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 I wonder if Connolly's best position is really a striker. Didn't he play more on the wing than up front for West Ham last season?

Didn't he play more on the wing than up front for West Ham last season? 16464 He did, maybe he has the Scowcroft curse of losing it when moved to another position? I think its how we play personally
Buzzell Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 Walker Tiatto Dabizas Keown Makin Stewart Williams Gudjonnsen/Nalis Scowcroft/Canero Connolly Benji
Marcoos Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 I am going to Rotherham and would like to see: Walker Tiatto Dabizas Keown Makin Stewart Nallis Gemmill Canero Scowcroft Connelly
SilverFox Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 Not sure, but if I spent enough time down Vikky Park I'm sure I could put together a starting 11 that could pass it about a bit. Perhaps even score a goal
Scow Posted 1 September 2004 Posted 1 September 2004 ------------------Walker Canero----Dabizas----Keown----Makin Scowcroft---Nalis-----Dawson----Tiatto -----------Connolly---Dublin Subs: Pressman, Heath, Wright, Gemmill, Gudjonsson
davieG Posted 2 September 2004 Posted 2 September 2004 I think it's time to adopt a radical change, unfortunately this means dropping Scowcroft who has been one of our better players. It proveds a good mix of experience and yoof. They should be encourage to play a mixed passing game with the hoof used sparingly and as appropriate. Williams looks a strange choice considering his poor displays, but he's looked at his best hovering around the box just behind the front two - I think with Nalis, Dawson and Tiatto behind him it will make a big difference. MAs should pick a team and a formation and stick with it, subs to be used only for injuries, or to TWEEK the attack / midfield. The defence should be given a good run of games unchanged, If there are injuries just replace the injured player not move everyone around. ------------------Walker Canero----Stearman----Keown----Makin -------------------Dawson----------------- --------Nalis------------------Tiatto-------- ------------------Williams------------------ -----------Connolly---Dublin-------------- The subs have been chosen to provide coverage in case of injuries, which in most cases there would be a straight swop, the only problem area is at LB, as Tiatto would need to drop back there with Gemill coming in. Subs: Pressman, Dabizas, Gemmill, Scowcroft, Wright,
Ric Flair Posted 2 September 2004 Posted 2 September 2004 Good shout there mate, we need to get a petition going to get Dawson, Stearman and Wright in the team!
dynamite foxes Posted 2 September 2004 Posted 2 September 2004 This IMO is our best side Walker: by far our best keeper Makin: Solid as a rock we have missed him dearly as Canero is rubbish Elliott: for his leadership more than anything Stearman: Elliott needs legs and he is so much better on the ball than Heath (heath wouldn't get in a div1 team) Stewart: eventually he will come good Connolly: as a winger yes but that is his best postion as he is a good crosser but he can't score at the mo Dawson: the only real tough ball winner we have at the club Williams: this guy will be good when we play it on the deck worry about his lack of pace though Tiatto: tireless running and grit and determination Wright: give him his chance Scowcroft: would win everything in the air for Connolly and Wright WRIGHT IN

Ash Posted 2 September 2004 Posted 2 September 2004 I seriously dont know how some of you think Trevor Benjamin is one of our best strikers ?!?!
Guest freund Posted 2 September 2004 Posted 2 September 2004 well benjis not one of our best strikers, but better than dublin currently!
Ash Posted 2 September 2004 Posted 2 September 2004 Why is he ? Because he has scored a goal ? None of our players have set the world alight apart from Tiatto So id go with the overall better player
Scow Posted 2 September 2004 Posted 2 September 2004 well benjis not one of our best strikers, but better than dublin currently! 16790 Not after the reserves yesterday.
