K-townfox Posted 21 August 2016 Posted 21 August 2016 A conversation between myself and a work colleague started up which i thought it might be interesting to get your thoughts on. The squad of 2015/6 was undoubtedly our best ever, but on an individual level, hoe many would make it into your all time leicester city 11? I.e would vardy make it in ahead of Lineker, Morgan ahead of Elliott etc. Just a discussion topic for you all!
Harry - LCFC Posted 21 August 2016 Posted 21 August 2016 I think most of our starting eleven will have been the best we've had in their positions
davieG Posted 21 August 2016 Posted 21 August 2016 They aren't the best individual players we've had but they are the best team.
AyewJoking Posted 21 August 2016 Posted 21 August 2016 Mahrez and Kante. Mahrez is the most technically gifted player ive seen play for leicester and Kante was almost too good to be true.

Collectivly though they are the best team we've ever had. Glover, Worthington, Lineker, Chandler, Rowley, Lennon, Izzet, Shilton, Banks the list of greats goes on and on. What we had last season was enormous belief, team spirit, work ethic and ability without being world class.
Foxhateram Posted 22 August 2016 Posted 22 August 2016 My best ever 11 would be: Banks Elliot Walsh mclintock Mahrez Izzett Kante Lennon Birch/Guppy Linekar Rowley So many Forwards to choose from. Claridge Heskey Collymore Worthkngton Young Smith Vardy Cottee. The list just goes on.

None of our past CBs stand out to me either. The positions I'd concede that we probably have had better players in would be in goal, upfront (just one, no-one else achieved anything like what Vardy did at the club), and on the wing. Someone used a good phrase in another thread; "nostalgia goggles". The past can sometimes feel better because the mind only recalls the good bits.

While Drinkwater is absolute quality and I love the bloke, given the choice I would take Muzzy or Lennon over him in an all time LCFC X1. A bit before my time but I know my old man refuses to even talk of an all time team without Dave Gibson as lynchpin, captain and all around hero. I'll let some of the older FT posters who may have seen both play decide who was better.
