NewEnglandFox Posted 8 November 2016 Posted 8 November 2016 This thread falls into the classic Okazaki after international break trap. You can't play him in the first match after the international break. Well you can but you can plan on taking him off at the half with us 2 goals down. Claudio came out month and said Shinji isn't Shinji after the break. He knows better now than to play him.
crazyleicester Posted 8 November 2016 Posted 8 November 2016 If Victor Moses can be made into a RWB then anyone can! Im with you in trying 352 or 532 or whatever shape it ends up but I would be tinkering with that team selection myself. Im not a fan of Amartey at CB and with the extra defensive numbers Id want to try Slim and Vardy in the same side again. Id also like to see what all the fuss about Chilwell is about. He has been talked up about as an England LB of the future but that seems largely to do what he does going forward than defending. With all that said, Id go... Schmeichel Morgan Huth Fuchs Albrighton Chilwell Drinkwater King Slimani Mahrez Vardy Its Harsh on Simpson but Albrighton will be be good down the right hand side. Id play Fuchs as one of the three but left side for balance and he can link with Chilwell. Drinky and King in central midfield with them taking it n turns to bomb on. Vardy up front and just behind him roaming around Slimani going looking for the ball and Slim with his energy doing the same with more emphasis in getting forward. He`ll also be an outball in midfield when Kasper hoofs it. Its hard on Okazaki as well but Id like to see that side in action.
WigstonWanderer Posted 8 November 2016 Posted 8 November 2016 Fairly sure Simpson could be recycled as a centre back if required.
ozvaldo Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 Great post. I'd go with a 3-1-4-1-1, with the following team (when all fit)... Kasper Wes - Huth - Fuchs Amartey Albrighton - Drinky - Mendy - Gray Shinji Slimani I don't think there is a good enough link between our midfield and defence currently. Amartey could be just that. Albrighton is better on the right - let him get up and down all day, offering defensive support and crossing balls in from that right wing. (He's really slow and predicable on the left when he cuts in and tries to cross from anywhere). Gray has to start more. He's electric. I hope we offload the following in January: Schlupp Ulloa King And bring in: An actual CM who can compliment Drinky and fill in for him if he ever is injured/suspended/rested. A better replacement for Ulloa (possible Cornelius from Copenhagen). A younger CB (someone like Michael Keane) Another RB for when Claudio goes back to his beloved 4-4-2. Let's make America great again.

Otherwise we're going to be horribly unbalanced.
