Guest Manini Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 The only person I'd really want to have the job next is Shakey. Knows the club, knows the players, knows the owners, knows how we do things, I've thought this for a while. Eddie Howe would be stuff of dreams but he's proved before he isn't all that away from the south coast, his spell at Burnley was pretty poor wasn't it? No need for Ranieri to go yet anyway, and I still think he deserves to leave on his own terms after the success he had last year. It was only three bloody months ago when people wanted a statue of him putting up!
Rialto 290352 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 "Sell em all n start again" Leaving aside who the manager is if I were the owners I would be very tempted to make it clear to the squad that their attitude and lack of effort is unacceptable. Given their contracts the only way to do that could well be to pay up the contract of one or more of those who are making little effort and cancel their contracts with the club. Yes it would cost millions but it might be better than having those players continue to negatively affect the dressing room? Plus it would, in effect, end the careers of those players who were in that situation. A total shame things have come to the current position but the club is bigger than the players or the manager and as an owner I could not risk relegation.

zealot Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 To answer the OP's original question stopping the rot is not complicated we need to do two straightforward things: - pass and move better (simple passes to feet) - tackle better. Those are the two things we've been absolutely dog-turd terrible at so far this season. If this involves completely re-organising our midfield then so be it. At the moment there is no Plan B. Our Plan A of balls over the top to Vardy has been found out in the League and teams stop us doing this leaving us starved of possession and not getting anywhere near the oppo's penalty area. The only way to combat this (and actually formulate any kind of Plan B) is to pass the ball better or actually be able to win the ball back. P.S. We can do this through Claudio but not with current players. Those calling for a new manager are just dim and know absolutely nothing about football.
Gazza3 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 How about putting a man on each post defend corners and stop conceding silly goals. " We'll sing it till May ..... "

King can't tackle and neither can Mendy (I'm willing to give Mendy plenty of benefit of the doubt at the minute though as he hasn't played nearly enough games for us nor been fit enough to judge properly yet). Drinkwater has great interception and tackle stats for someone who is mainly know as a passer of the ball. You have to have two central midfielders who can tackle otherwise you're lost...
