When has he ever said anything meaningful in interviews? He plays the media very well, keeping them on side while giving nothing away. You'd be naïve to think what he says to the press is necessarily anywhere near his honest thoughts.

Well, he can't get away with that now. I was listening to Ian Stringer's interview with him about Wilfred Ndidi, and to be honest, I don't know what he was on about. You could hear Stringer thinking 'oh, for fxxx's sake, bring back Pearson. He doesn't like me, but at least he makes that entirely fxxxxxg transparent'. I can't imagine him explaining complex theories about the exact way we need to set up our tactical plans to the average footballer, let alone Vardy or Okazaki. What we need now is an interpreter, somebody fluent in classical Italian and also football language, you get me? You can only go so far on hand signals or Morse code. Maybe the players have simply stopped playing for Ranieri, once things have started to go badly, because they don't know what he wants, and most importantly, you can't have a decent argument with him. You just go 'alright, boss. 4-4-2 it is. I get paid anyway'. Just a thought. What the OP is trying to say is. CR can go on a bit and perhaps the players are getting bored with it.

That's more or less it, plus the bit about you can't have a decent argument with him. Do I know this? No. Nobody knows what happens behind the scenes and nobody ever will. If you imagine Ranieri's view of things, plus Shakespeare's, plus Schmeichel's and plus Vardy's, they will all add up to totally different things, and we don't know any of them. The art of management lies in blending all these different points of view to the point where you actually come up with a playing style that's more or less agreed by all to be the way forward. Or at least, one would hope so. That was happening last season. It's not happening this. Do I think Ranieri's linguistic skills have anything to do with it? Not really. My OP was just an attempt to have a piece of fun. I actually think that Kanté's departure has brought the whole edifice crashing down, but we're playing a game whereby every other option has to seriously be considered because it's the judgement of the board* that no single player can make that much difference. *(My apologies to those who do in fact think that Kanté's exit has brought all of this about. Your view is currently unfashionable, but hang on in there. It may become fashionable again).
MPH Posted 30 December 2016 Posted 30 December 2016 Yeah how on earth would he manage at a big club like chelsea, for example...
