Ranieri's Interpreter.

Recommended Posts

Claudio's on record as saying 'I had no team talks to give last season' (or something like that, anyway).

Well, he can't get away with that now. I was listening to Ian Stringer's interview with him about Wilfred Ndidi, and to be honest, I don't know what he was on about. You could hear Stringer thinking 'oh, for fxxx's sake, bring back Pearson. He doesn't like me, but at least he makes that entirely fxxxxxg transparent'.

I can't imagine him explaining complex theories about the exact way we need to set up our tactical plans to the average footballer, let alone Vardy or Okazaki.

What we need now is an interpreter, somebody fluent in classical Italian and also football language, you get me? You can only go so far on hand signals or Morse code. Maybe the players have simply stopped playing for Ranieri, once things have started to go badly, because they don't know what he wants, and most importantly, you can't have a decent argument with him. You just go 'alright, boss. 4-4-2 it is. I get paid anyway'. Just a thought.

Multilingual isn't he?  Could come in handy with players that come from European leagues.

Anyway, not sure if your post is just a wind up but I thought that last year Claudio never put a foot wrong when he spoke.  Both inspiring and calming and always on hand to say exactly the right thing at the right time.

I imagine that is the last thing Stringer is thinking. He would have been swimming with the fishes ages ago if Nigel were still in charge.

Did his interpreter tell you that?

Don't need an interpreter to tell me what he's saying because every interview he does these days he says absolutely nothing.

Tell ya who I couldn't understand a word of what he was saying when he was here...Sousa, think it was quite clear the players couldn't either!

I'm interpreting this post as you clutching at straws but instead it's just bollocks, classical, fluent bollocks.

Mock-pompous deadpan is my style, which may be quite irritating if you're not in the mood. It's not for everyone, but xxxx it.

I've got no agenda, believe it or not. I don't know if what I'm saying is in any way true, but it's one avenue that needs to be investigated, pored over, dismissed as rubbish, championed and ignored the way everything else is in FT. I'm simply trying to start a conversation.

His language is a lot better than it was in the Chelsea days - he was just being obstructive which is sensible  in the transfer window.

He was open enough to take final responsibility for signings at the club

Walter Mazzarri doesn't speak a word of English and Watford are top half....

How would you know how Claudio speaks at training, in the dressing room, behind the scenes? What he did last year was great as he took any attention away from the players, that is what you expect of a good manager.

Irony and message boards are a dangerous combination. I ought to have known that. Sorry.

Its mainly this one, you see there are a great many people who would post such nonsense and actually mean it.
