carl edmundson Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 hello im just wondering if any of you play golf, if so what is your best score mine is 102 but only been playing a couple of months
rossporterlc Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 89 but haven't played in ages and i think this is in the wrong forum
Shum Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 only just recently started playing. played 10 holes last sunday and done it in 58. didn't have time to play all 18!
Stuliasz Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 Ive never played golf in my life, would really like a go though. Looks easy enough
john_lcfc Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 i can play golf for 9 holes 12 max and have done 18 once and it gets repetitive and boring... unless you have a buggy to drive
rossporterlc Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 i can play golf for 9 holes 12 max and have done 18 once and it gets repetitive and boring... unless you have a buggy to drive golf is hardly the most physical sport, using a buggy takes out the most physical aspect, all golfers should walk unless there are extreme circumstances
Samu Posted 2 October 2005 Posted 2 October 2005 golf is hardly the most physical sport, using a buggy takes out the most physical aspect, all golfers should walk unless there are extreme circumstances I've been playing for quite a few years but I never play enough to get really good at it. I think my best round is about 95 at Oadby course. I've onyl ever once used a buggy and that was cos we were playing in 42 degree heat in Palm Springs 2 months ago. Buggies are the way forward though...if you're lazy

Ric Flair Posted 3 October 2005 Posted 3 October 2005 In a competition the best i've shot is 73 (2 over par gross) but not in a competition i've shot a 68 before (3 under par) Not played much this year though.
Thracian Posted 3 October 2005 Posted 3 October 2005 Sixty-nine (the only one I get just now!), which is two under gross par. I've only managed level par or under three times, I'm afraid - and I've played loads and loads of games!. Been golfing four years now - thought I'd be cracking it, but I'm just as likely to shoot something in the 80's. Told my wife she's GOTTO get better cos I wanna get on the practice ground again. Truth is I probably need a body transplant if I'm going to get much better - but I'll carry on torturing the body I've got anyway.

If you do play make sure you savour successes. The game takes shots off you a lot quicker than it gives em. And that's just on the sunny days.

They are a bloody nuisance and so are the players in em

I've been playing 8 years, but didn't play from 2001-2004 as I found beer to much of a hinderence. Now i've got the time and resources to do both, but not nearly as much as I could when I was a youth. I get to play a couple of times a month but I enjoy it more now. When I was 17/18 I used to play 5/6 times a week and I was in my golfing peak. But now I can play just as good at times but without the heartache and frustration I used to suffer when I played badly. It doesn't bother me if I have a hack now, back then I used to go wild if I did. Me and you should have a knock sometime Thracian.

Just e-mail suggestions if you like.

They are a bloody nuisance and so are the players in em agree, i had one guy who moaned at me for playing slow, he asked me my age and then said i played more like i was 97! so i explained that i had been keeping up with the group in-front and had had to wait for a greenkeeper, then i swore at him
Nationwider Posted 4 October 2005 Posted 4 October 2005 Once did 97 when I was a nipper (of about 16), but haven't touched a club for about 10 years now. I'm looking forward to starting again, when I've got more time to devote.
