I ran into a few of there fans earlier in the season, we were away at Chelsea, they were playing in London somewhere. 

 

I hate what's happened to them.

 

I personally would like Cov, Derby and Forest with us in the Premier League. 

 

It's locally rivally and a few points!

That made me laugh. I want Coventry in oblivion hate them with a passion. Only club that I truly despise!

Some of us remember the way they got us relegated in 69 too so great that they're finally back where they belong. Hope they enjoy their Midlands derbies at Mansfield, Cheltenham and Notts County next season!

69 was when my dislike for them started that season and increased to how it is now. John gaunt sealed my hatred for them with his antics day after stoke. 

As someone said we play nadrid same week as they went down. Oh the joy i feel

I still think if we'd have had bottom half finishes ever since 2008 (say we hypothetically stayed up) we'd have never sunk to crowds of 12,000 in the Championship even now.

They needed to get promoted to the PL, quickly, and stay there for the Ricoh to stand any chance of success. As you rightly say, the location is utterly fatal to building any kind of a matchday atmosphere. Thank goodness we didn't make the same mistake, because we could so easily have done.

 

The fact that they declined afterwards made the situation infinitely worse, and you have to think that they have no future there now. Their average attendance is around 9,000 this season, and goodness knows how far that'll fall if they're struggling in midtable and it's Barnet on a Tuesday night in December. It might seem ridiculous to relocate again, but the situation as it stands is completely untenable. The way things are going at that club could see them playing North Ferriby United in front of 3,000 in a few years.

As a Leicester fan based in Warwickshire im nearer to Cov than Leicester. Got sick of hearing about their 87 cup win as a teenager and hated them ever since. Sang about our relegation to L1 whilst they flirted with relegation almost every single season and fluked survival. I couldnt give a rats ass to be honest, they called for us to be relegated whilst we were in administration too. Id rather take Dennis Wise for dinner than see them win.

Despite the protests against them, SISU still seem quite 'attached' to the club and not wanting to leave either in case it's not financially-viable or the club would be left with no owners that supposedly would support them.

Doubt it, but not sure whether SISU are in much (or if any) contact with supporters group.

 

Hence it's becoming like what the Forest situation is currently - the fans don't like the owner and complain he hasn't a clue how to get the club moving forward, and Fawaz insisting he's "trying" to sell the club  (like he's said for many months now) but nothing at all happens and it feels like to the fans the club is slowly getting in more of a tangled mess.

I wouldn't wish what they are going through on any club like. So many historic clubs in a mess at the minute including Cov, Blackpool, Blackburn. 

 

To see them in the fourth tier now is strange considering how long they spent in the top flight. I always enjoy playing them and always viewed them as rivals - they can be nasty bastards and Highfield Road was a proper intimidating ground... I can remember walking to the Richo with my Leicester shirt on, first game of the season, and when a bus stopped for a red light I could just see some of their fans banging on the windows chanting "we hate Leicester" at me  

 

We were quite lucky to get Pearson as manager when we were relegated to League One. He took no shit and sorted us right out. Too many clubs get relegated to the third tier and either never come back or get stuck. Look at how long Forest and Leeds were in that league, Sheffield United have only just got out, clubs like Swindon and Bradford have suffered consecutive relegations. I was walking to Palace yesterday and got talking to a Leyton Orient fan, just sad listening to the stuff clubs like that suffer.

Christ, didnt realise Sheff Utd were in League 1 for that long. Goes to show how well we've done to get out of it in one season.
