It was in the context of you suggesting that Benítez would leave Newcastle to come here. Imo that’s a delusion of grandeur. It won’t happen. 

Oh and by the way,  they beat us 2 1 at home a few weeks ago so you’re 50% correct.

I didn't suggest anything of the sort in the quote you responded to so I'm not really sure how you came to that conclusion. Never mind, I don't believe you can justify any of that based on one result when we were low on confidence, playing drab football that nobody wants to see. This squad when high on confidence and playing proper football instead of this French sh!t would beat Newcastle every day of the week. Add that to the fact that we have been above them more or less all season and that kind of makes your statement a bit of a barrel scraping to fit an agenda AGAINST the players of the club you 'support'. Why would you show so little confidence in a group of players who brought the Premier League title to the club you 'support' and argue that they aren't better than a team that were in the Championship last season? My previous statement was 100% correct. The only player from their team that I'd take is Lascelles, the rest wouldn't even make the bench.

I took it that you were insinuating that Benítez would leave Newcastle to come here because we have a better squad and more money to spend.

Ive no agenda at all against the players. I’ve been a season ticket holder for 10 years. Never once bood or left early and I clap them off the pitch every game even when it’s not gone well. I’ve supported every player and every manager during that time. 

If you want to vent your spleen on those who are critical of the players who won the Premier League, I’d suggest there are more appropriate candidates than me on this Forum.

I was simply wondering why you don't think this Leicester squad is better than the Newcastle squad. Since all you've based it on is one result when this group of players has largely remained intact and finished above Newcastle for the past three seasons, almost four. That's like saying our squad is better than Tottenham's because we beat them this season. Absurd.

Of course you’re right, it was a tongue in cheek comment. I was just suggesting that on the day they looked a better team than us.

If Mike Ashley could convince Benitez to join Newcastle when they were in the bottom three then I have utmost confidence that Vichai could easily tempt him considering there would be substantial funds available and we are an ambitious club. We offer everything Benitez wants and he has been vocal about these very things recently. 

 

It just depends on whether Benitez wants to manage a wrongfully perceived big club on a shoestring budget or a group of Premier League Champions with very little financial restraint.
