Hi all,

I have been accepted onto a challenge at work where i have pledged to raise £2000 for Age UK and Barnados with my employer then matching all donations so the total will be £4000. In return for this they have organised for myself and 40 other people to go over to Cambodia to build a school.

Although donations would be great and i will include the link to my justgiving page i am looking to see if any local business owners or people who work for business that donate prizes for raffles to get in touch. My aim is to complete a raffle or auction through my work place, friends, family and whoever else wants to enter and so any donating businesses will get a fair bit of coverage.

Equally, if anyone has any ideas of how they have raised money before that would be great. At the minute i have the 3 Peaks challenge organised for August bank holiday weekend as well as a few local events through work,

Here's the link, https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kyle-warman3

Cheers!

I organised a race night down my local once some years back when running the London marathon to raise funds for Loros. You used to be able to get VHS recordings of horse races, I'm sure they'd now be available online somwhere like YouTube, people bet on a horse, 50% went to Loros and the other 50% was shared between those who picked the winning horse, in the end people where donating their winnings. You could get people to sponsor races ext... I think overall on the night we raised over £500. And fun was had by all.

Hats off to you, mate - great work.

I’ve tried contacting local restaurants for raffle prizes (maybe not Prince of Punjab) to donate free dinner for 2 as a prize - costs the restaurant nothing and they get a bit of publicity and can raise the profile of the event through their customers.

Has worked well for me.

Has worked well for me.

We had a raffle after the racing had finished, then an auction for a City players shirt which the club kindly donated which was auctioned off for about £180.

I know someone who knows a player

and will find out tomorrow if they can get it signed for me. If they can’t I’m heading down to the training ground and trying my luck there which I am absolutely dreading as I will probably turn into a quivering girl when Vardy pulls up.

I have started emailing local businesses and so far I have had positive replies from 6 businesses with prizes probably totalling about £200 which is a decent start.

Again if anyone from any local businesses have anything they could donate i will be massively greatful. This should get a fair bit of publicity through my work so I would make sure any donors get the credit they deserve.

I’ve done them mate, I think Tigers is unlikely by the sound of their automated reply.

Ah they've not changed, if I remember rightly they weren't too helpful when we asked and it felt that they grudgingly donated the book.

The riders and speedway may be worth a shout.

I thought about the riders but not speedway, nice one.

Sorry I literally have only just seen this but yes we do.

Somehow I have hit my target already. I’ve put in the effort no doubt about it but very shocked I’ve managed it let alone with 3 months to spare.

You come across as someone who doesn't do things by halves! Most of us sit on our backside and talk about what we're going to do, rather than go out and do it like you.

Inspirational, mate - really well done.

Thanks mate, I like to set myself challenges and I’m in a lucky position where I can do things like this.
