Where as under all our previous 3 managers it's been one of the best in the league.

Except it really hasn't and the revisionism over 14/15 is really stupid.

Pearson in the top flight: P19, W7, D5, L7, GF 28, GA 22, points: 26, PPG: 1.37

Ranieri: P31, W17, D9, L5, GF 51, GA 34, points: 56, PPG: 1.81

Shakespeare: P11, W6, D2, L3, GF 21, GA 15, points: 20, PPG: 1.82

Puel: P23, W9, D7, L7, GF 29, GA 24, points: 34, PPG: 1.48

Puels record at home is better than Pearsons by roughly 2 points per season.

The only managers it's really been the best in the league over a reasonable period under is Ranieris, given Shakespeare was ditched the moment his new manager bounce ended (compare and contrast his end of 16/17 record: P7, W5, D1, L1, GF 15, GA 9, points 16, PPG: 2.29; with his 17/18 record: P4, W1, D1, L2, GF 6, GA 6, Points 4, PPG 1.

Puels first 7 for reference: W4, D1, L2, GF 10, GA 8, points 13, PPG: 1.86. And first 11: W5, D4, L2, GF 15, GA 11, points 19, PPG: 1.73).

Was originally going to make a poll, asking whether Puel has been more divisive than Pearson here, but got thinking about how very similar their reigns have been so far(mainly Pearson's second reign). Both have had very similar jobs to do and have had similar approaches, Pearson arrived and immediately started to get the dead wood out of the squad, clashed heads with the marquee signings in Beckford and Mills early on and quickly phased them out. Similar to Puel, he's clearly clashed with Vardy (albeit a much better asset than those other two mentioned) and has phased out King & Simpson quite aggressively. Both have had a somewhat similar emphasis on youth and both have brought through a defender from the academy into the starting eleven, both being local lads. Both were quite divisive during their reigns. Both also drew critcisims for their interviews with the press(even though Pearson's certainly got more interesting in the prem season) and also both seem to be quite stubborn in their approach to football matches.the only real thing they mainly differ on is their tactical approach, Nige someone who liked to stick with plan A and Puel a man with plans from A-Z.

I think a fairer analogy would be that Pearson lacked a convincing Plan B and Puel until last week lacked a convincing Plan A.
