Yeah, they did a great job there. The flats are built where the stands used to be, and the pitch space a communal garden I believe. The art deco facade of the East(?) stand was left standing and forms a part of the new buildings. It's commendably done.

Unfortunately, ol' Filbert Street wasn't quite as nice as Highbury, bless it.

We'd end up with flats built out of what was left of the Carling Members Enclosure, some corrugated iron and the remnants of the old burger concession in the corner.

It helped that the Art Deco facade was listed at Highbury

Incorporating the old entrance would be good but not impressed with the rest of it. Just a mass of red brick set in a mostly rectangular block.

Unfortunately it’s the way most high rise developers are having to go. The recent clampdown on Cladding panels means the use of brick slip panels are the current fashion

Not sure who Windermere fox is but suspect may be part of the Jamie Lewis Group who own the majority of the rental properties in the west end of the city and have converted several old factories etc into student accommodation over the years.  Generally, where existing properties have been converted these have been fairly sympathetic to the surroundings and of a decent standard.  Obviously this will be a new build and from the architects impressions it will be the usual faceless blocks.  The "nod" to the original site is exactly that but better than nothing I suppose.  Perhaps each of the blocks, or wings whatever, could be named after city heroes  of yesteryear from the filbert street heydays (Chandler court, Rowley house, Banks terrace etc etc.) Maybe the developers could hold a poll for suggestions?

May seem a daft question but is that the original?. Anyway, a very good idea.

The bottom picture is the original but i was led to believe when previously discussed it was destroyed as there was talk by some fans to get it added to the KP stadium not long after they finished building it.
