Former FA technical director Dan Ashworth is also part of the six-strong group set up by the Premier League who will try to agree a quota system for overseas players with the Football Association. According to a report in the Mail, the Premier League have appointed a Brexit working party who will aim to shape the future of English football after the country leaves the European Union. Ashworth, now Brighton technical director, spent nearly six years at the FA, and will face up to his successor, Les Reed, when talks commence over what happens next in English football. Also on the working party are Southampton managing director Toby Steele, Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards, Chelsea general counsel James Bonington, Tottenham director of football operations Rebecca Caplehorn, and Rudkin. The Mail also reports that representatives from the FA and EFL are also set to be involved in the talks, while Premier League sources are also confident that the panel provides widespread representation, despite its limited numbers.
