Started in the main stand with me dad, then moved to the Kop when I was a bit older.

Finally ended up at the top of the double decker after my girlfriend (now wife) lost her shoe

at the Simod Cup semifinal against Forest and refused to go back in the Kop.lol

My affiliation with Filbert St is not so much the building but the memories and the way we watched and participated in supporting the team. One could argue that the memories have been surpassed or at least equalled by what we've achieved at the KP, depending on how long you've been a supporter But the way you supported the team the close proximity to the pitch, the smell of the pitch, the standing, the swaying and movement of the crowd, the closeness of fellow supports, the singing, the meeting up inside with no reserve seating, has not and can't be equalled never mind bettered. It's been watered down to a cinematic type experience at the KP.

Excellent post. At least the old stadia had some character and a certain degree of uniqueness. Even the goal nets were distinctive and you could recognise the ground on the basis of this. Most modern stadia are similar - even the old, iconic Wembley looks like many modern grounds

I have some great memories & some totally shit ones too.  It's easy to get romantic about how great Filbert Street was, but if it hadn't of been knocked down, it probably would have fell down.

I certainly wouldn't have wanted to stay had we not been able to expand it, just think it would've been better to get to the current capacity whilst maintaining the nod to the past in the shape of the Double Decker.

Filbert St will mean a lot to most fans over 25, it is where you first watched the team and had the early memories. Certainly if you grew up from 1993 onwards you had Premier League football, memorable cup and European nights which do tint the glasses somewhat. The last season was an embarrassment and to leave after that 12 months was dispiriting however.

But there is no doubt we needed to grow. Even in the rotten Championship years, we averaged more than the capacity of Filbert St, and clearly we have the ability to expand comfortably in the current ground.

Although leaving was sad but inevitable, the lack of real markers to our past as @davieG mentioned is dreadful and you'd hard pushed to know football was played for over a century a few hundred yards from the KP.

We've had incredible times at the Way but it still looks a bit bland, and tired in places. Should we increase capacity I hope we have a facelift in the present areas, plus a nod to our overall history, like the banner around the top, returns in some fashion.

And a name... Let's give upgraded new place a more Leicester focused name rather than bloody KP
