I remember in Euro 2004 Sweden played Denmark in the last group game and a 2-2 draw would send them both through at the expense of Italy. There was plenty of speculation that the two Scandinavian neighbours would concoct a 2-2 scoreline. I watched the game and they both went at each other. It was 2-1 Denmark with a couple of minutes to go and then Sweden equalised and for the last couple of minutes both sides stood off each other which was fair enough.

 

If a draw gets us both through I would expect something similar as both teams go at each other and then just stand off each other in the last few minutes and protect their CL spots.

This is reasonable prediction. The game will go as per any competitive match - but with a general lack of intensity. (Which wouldn’t suit us). assuming that someone scores, the likelihood would be that the opposition equalise rather than anyone scores a second. Then, as you say, the game is played out 1-1 at a slow pace. 
 

of course three results still need to fall into place for this to happen .....

I don't like United in the top 4. The Palace game proved that they're there for the taking. Smash em I say.
