If Ourselves and Man Utd Both Win This Weekend and Chelsea Lose vs Liverpool...

I'm sure there must be some kind of rule to prevent that happening. Would it constitute match fixing? It's a really dodgy one. I think we would at least have to make it look authentic.

Shouldn't we just pass it about for 90 minutes and both teams deliberately play out a 0-0 draw - like that ManUtd vs Blackburn game a few years back?

When was that game and what was riding on it?

It was about 10-15 years a go or so. ManUtd needed to draw to win the title and Blackburn needed to draw to stay up, Man Utd just passed it arounf their defence back and forth and Blackburn just let them.

I'm wondering whether there's actually rules against this now and whether both teams would be punished or both teams should just come to a gentleman's agreement?

Yeah but its Versus Man U so the FA would turn blind eye.

2010/11 they met on the final weekend of the season, finished 1-1

ManU won the league by nine points and Blackburn stayed up by four, so wouldn't been that.

That's the only final day of the season game between them I can find.

I imagine that if there was any sort of evidence of the plan then both teams would be punished. Definitely sounds like match fixing to me.

Nah. We put Barnes up front they put Maguire and no one will suspect a thing.......

We could do with a leicester fan and utd fan in full kit getting into a massive racist verbal tirade and having it go viral so we can just agree to take the knee for 90 minutes for the sake of ending racism.

Yeah but what if Chelsea beat Wolves 15-0 on the final day? Too risky

We play in the league whilst Chelsea and Man United play each other in the cup semi final at the weekend. If we beat Spurs, we’ll go third. Man United host West Ham and then Chelsea go to Anfield. Potentially you go into the last day in third and Chelsea in 5th. I don’t expect Man United to think about anyone but themselves. Let’s just get a tough final away game done and hope we can pick up the three points, no reason why not

That was the match.

.

It wasn't the final game of the season but ManUtd needed 1 more point to win the title and Blackburn needed 1 more point to stay up

I couldn't find any decent footage. Only someone speeding it up and putting Benny Hill music on it. But once it was 1-1 the final 20 minutes basically just consistent of ManUtd passing it side to side across defence and Blackburn just standing there not even pressing.

I don't think there is anything they can do to stop this. It might just affect the reputations of the clubs in that it could be considered to be bad sportsmanship to not go out to actively win a game but when there are finances and CL football on the line neither team would want to miss out so it could well go this way.

What if we agreed that then back stab United in the 90+1 min

I don't think there can be a written agreement as that would constitute match fixing 😂 but I like the idea!

Just get J*n M*ss to ref it, he's been doing everything in his power to get Man Utd. into the top 4 for the past 2 months so he'd probably be game to engineer a draw.

It would be a disgrace and the stench would follow the clubs for decades.

I remember in Euro 2004 Sweden played Denmark in the last group game and a 2-2 draw would send them both through at the expense of Italy. There was plenty of speculation that the two Scandinavian neighbours would concoct a 2-2 scoreline. I watched the game and they both went at each other. It was 2-1 Denmark with a couple of minutes to go and then Sweden equalised and for the last couple of minutes both sides stood off each other which was fair enough.

If a draw gets us both through I would expect something similar as both teams go at each other and then just stand off each other in the last few minutes and protect their CL spots.

Chelsea have plenty of racist fans in their midst too, so we'd be doing our bit in more ways than one.
