Ricardo Pereira: The 'Underrated' All-Rounder Who's Key to Making the Foxes Bite

Watching Wan Bissaka last night, it made you realise just how good Ric is. His stats for assists and goals don't really reveal that in full because he often assists the assister or he is the one who has driven us up the pitch or created space for others with a darting run that draws defenders out of position or made a clever pass or one two leading up to a goal. Although he is fast, he doesn't have express speed; it's his ability to dribble at pace that is currently unparalleled by any other genuine full back, who is also a really good defender/tackler (like Ric is), as opposed to a converted winger. Technically, meanwhile, he is superb, with a first touch not far off Riyad's level; this can be seen by the way he deals so brilliantly with many passes from Kasper each game, which shall we say are not always totally accurate!

It's a complete mystery to me why a so called elite club didn't take a punt on  him when we did (Man U even took his far worse understudy at Porto for more money and then wasted another £50m on another inferior player in his position last summer!). I suspect other EPL clubs were concerned that he might be too small and not physical enough for the Prem. But he is much more robust and tough that you'd imagine. And on top of all this he seems hard working, unassuming, a great team player and easy to manage. What's not to love?

2nd best player I've seen play for the club behind Kanté consistently puts in high level performances and a player you could see playing for any club in the world. It's mad how little he is talked about.

He’s the World Class player at our club right now. Genuine world class. He’d have a field day for one of the super clubs at right back.
