The People's Hero Posted 6 November 2005 Posted 6 November 2005 He's seems to have a hell of a leap on him... check out him winning headers on two occasions in the pics here http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~737550,00.html
SystonFox Posted 6 November 2005 Posted 6 November 2005 he is a very very good defender and i am beginning to like him more and more. potential next steve walsh IMO
The People's Hero Posted 6 November 2005 Author Posted 6 November 2005 Didn't think he had the best of games yesterday but having seen those photos, I'm surprised at what a good leap he has on him.
Scow Posted 6 November 2005 Posted 6 November 2005 I actually thought he played well. Him and Gerrbrand seem to compliment each other well. McCarthy being the aggressive attacker of the ball, with Gerrbrand playing it cool and adopting excellent defensive positions.
The People's Hero Posted 6 November 2005 Author Posted 6 November 2005 Gerrbrand seems to read the game well and anticipate where the ball is going to go. He also then has the pace to get there and the composure to distribute the ball well. McCarthy yesterday just seemed to be a bit hesitant at times and in two minds, getting himself effectively caught betwixt and between in no-man's-land.

Don't think it would ever have been easy marking those Southampton lads. Errors were inevitable but a clean sheet was an achievement. Southampton were restricted to barely a handful of decent chances and McCarthy was always in the thick of it especially when the midfield had gone AWOL during the second half. Gerrbrand's presence will only do him good.
Bert Posted 6 November 2005 Posted 6 November 2005 McCarthy seems to be growing in confidence and getting better as games go on. One thing though when he passes he does eem to have a "cod-foot"
