French Riots!

Recommended Posts

I think its BLOODY STUPID!! All this is because of some stupid 13-15 year olds in France and they wait till the real criminals come out, then they start all the riots! This because of a law in France that you dont go in Prison till your 18! So they are making the most of it! And now because off all of this my brother-in-law who is a riot police may have to go and help in Paris on Friday!!:(

What do you all think off this?

I am quite surprised!

The French are not know for their diplomacy when it comes to North Africans.

The sooner they shoot a few of the b*stards the better.

They need to send out a message now not when it's too late.

Not so much race as religion, the North African Muslims who are living

in the high rise suburbs are not happy.

They say they have no hope, no opportunity and no future when in fact they have more hope, more opportunity and the chance of a better future then they ever did in Morocco, Algeria or Tunisia.

It is also spreading throughout France due to the Mosques stirring up trouble!

from what i can gather, 2 immigrants ran away from the police and got electricuted then died. rumour spread like wild fire that the police caused this, and that was the excuse to riot.

something like 3000 cars have been destroyed, over the last 13 days, and accross several cites the length of france.

in the last 3 days, arson has increased in germany and belgium, in areas like the ones in france. one TV crew in germany had to flee as stones were thrown at them on sunday night.

RIDICULOUS!!

i see. Well i cant say that im surprised. Why cant they see that? They should be grateful that they have been given the chance to live in another country. They should accomodate themselves and adapt their lifestyle rather than the country changing their ways to accomodate the North African Muslims.

I hate to say it and i will get a lot of stick for this but its the way i see it. SOME people who come into EU countries think that the country should accomodate them and their lifestyles, but it should be the other way round. No way should a country change its rules to accomodate people! The oppourtunities should be fair for everyone of course but to change the oppourtunities to make it more favourable for a particular race/religion is wrong. Im not saying this happens everywhere, and is just a general opinion.

I think some of them are VERY lucky to live in France or in the EU! Because since i remember you have to have a Visa to enter France even for a Holiday if you are not in the EU and you have to wait a least a year to say if you are accepted to live there!

So i don't understand all of this! :(

One of the problems they have in France though is a thing called Egalite, this means that everyone is equal the immigrants and the indigenous people. You might say this is a good thing but it means that as an employer you are not allowed to ask anyone where they are from, and therefore they keep no records of how many non french workers there are.

This is supposed to promote racial harmony but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working.

I do feel for them in this respect but it doesn't justify the Violence.

The crux is the following: Personally, I believe that when one moves from his home country to another, you adapt to the existing rules of society. That's just my point of view and I believe it has something to do with the fact that I was brought up in a liberal European country. With that move, you become a part of a minority in a new country. But now, since all democracies allow freedom of speech and freedom of belief, the immigrant can hold those rights against the government, without thinking about the fact that with those rights come duties, too. And I can see that a lot of immigrants have come to a new country, either ignoring that fact or not knowing about it. Maybe it has something to do with tradition.

When I go to another country, I try to be as prepared as possible. I make sure I am able to speak their language as good as I can. I try to understand them. It all starts with communication. It is my way of showing my appreciation towards my host country. I stay friendly, honest and modest as good as I can. I am a guest.

I cherish the fact that most democracies are multi-cultural, but then again, European countries are not built like the ones in Africa or Asia. The mix of people and the religious and social backgrounds are completely different.

For instance, I live in Vancouver, BC. This city holds a very large amount of Asian immigrants, predominantly from China (especially rich families from Hong Kong) and South Korea.

Immigration is a generation thing. The older people don't feel like talking the new language. I see an awful lot of old Chinese men and women on the sidwalks, just standing there, waiting for death to come. Some of those Asians rather prefer to stay within their microcosm, avoiding contact with society at all costs. Maybe they're afraid, maybe they just don't want to. It always takes at least 1 to 2 generations to make immigration a successful mission.

Of course, in many cases you cannot compare Asians with Africans. Africans are (and excuse me if I may sound too general) poor people. The standard of living is low. Then they come to Europe , legal or illegal is out of question, with big hopes of a better life and try to settle down. They see what standard of living we have and get jealous (?), without recognizing what it took for us to get to this point. And let's not forget, there's poverty all over the globe, even in so-called developed countries like England or Switzerland. It's just more hidden. Overall, their situation in the new countries is better than in the place they were before.

As for the occurrences in France right now, I would appreciate it if some intelligent and articulate immigrants would speak up for their people, call for peace and settle for an agreement.

Violence on the streets is always the last resort for people who are not able to talk about their problems.

But then again, it's easy for me to say that because I am not directly involved and live in a city far, far away from those riots.

I totally agree with that statement, unfortunately nobody wants to be seen as a "coconut" sorry for using this derogatory word but it's the best i could come up with.

plus we have the Channel isolating us just that little bit (although not as much as before)...

That sounds like jealousy, rather than a race issue to me! :P

Immigrants adapt to new cultures all over the world and integrate, so why does it always seem to be muslims that don't. The immigrants in this case get benefits off the country that is kind enough to accomodate them, then run riot. Bloody politicians, TOO liberal, reaping what you sow.
