Smiley Tom Posted 14 September 2004 Posted 14 September 2004 Pressman 7 - Needed Keown to tell him off for being too slow off the line Makin 7 - Looked Solid at the back and supported Scowy coming forward Dabizas 5 - Apart from the goal failed to deal well with the aerial balls Keown 9 - City's top man, helped them to hold them out in the end Stewart 8 - Good set pieces and good skills when 3-0 up, panics too often still Scowcroft 8.5 - Worked hard all night, good goal and won most balls in the air Nalis 8 - Worked hard in midfield got good tackles in, why didn't he shoot? Williams 6 - Gave the ball away too often though worked hard defensviely Wilcox 7 - Good goal and looked lively but poor first touch and not great crosses Dublin 6 - Indifferent perfomance upfront though helped out well defensively Connolly 7 - Worked his socks off, still just needs to find the net Subs: Tiatto 5 - Got stuck in late on Blake 4 - Not enough time to make an impact, wasn't great at holding the ball up

Mad Dog Posted 14 September 2004 Posted 14 September 2004 Pressman - 6 Makin - 8 Stewart - 8 Dabizas - 7 Keown - 9 - Excellent, so much passion aswell. Do you think we'd have held that lead with Heath in there instead..? Scowcroft - 7 Williams - 6 Nalis - 7 Wilcox - 7 Connolly - 6 Dublin - 7

Cobbo Posted 15 September 2004 Posted 15 September 2004 Pressman - 7 Looked solid. Could maybe come and collect more crosses but it did seem that his way to crossed balls was always blocked by a melee of players. Makin - 7.5 - Good in defense as usual, decent on the ball too and got foward well at times. Stewart - 8.5 - Best I've seen him play in a long long time. Marvelous display from him. Just hope he can start to do it every week! Set pieces seem to be improving too. Keown - 9 - Cracking defender still at the age of 38. Reads the game so well and leads brilliantly from the back. He should obviously be skipper of this team. Showed a quick turn of pace when needed too, excellent all round display and it was great to see him so fired up after the final whistle Dabizas - 6 - Had some good moments, intercepting balls and winning headers. But, as so often is the case, he undid all this good work with silly blunders. Constantly wrestling with strikers around the box which is just asking for free kicks to be given against us. Better choice than Heath at the moment though IMO. Scowcroft - 8 - Won most things in the air (suprisingly as Alan Wright was normally challenging him) and was good on the deck in our many passing moves too. Took his goal well and showed some suprising amounts of pace throughout! Wilcox - 7.5 - Didn't seem so great with the ball, ordinary really. His work off the ball was great I thought, chased around a lot, knocked people off the ball. Looked like he wanted it. Huge improvement on what I'd seen of him before tonight! Looked like he took the goal well, but I did think he'd skied it at first Williams - 6 - Didn't really see much of him. The odd break from midfield that didn't materialise and the odd pass. Other than that you couldn't really notice him. He could work harder to get the ball back at times and also doesn't seem to be able to find space too often when we have the ball. Nalis - 7 - Not as good as I think he can play, but still decent. Played some cracking passes around, some on the ground and some lovely high balls. Worked hard off the ball but missed a lot of tackles which left us on the back foot at times. He did make one cracking challenge though, crunching! Dublin - 7 - Not too great in the air from our long balls, but is strong on the ball and has a decent tough allowing him to hold it up well and bring others into the game. Was excellent when defending most corners and throw ins, heading a lot away. Connolly - 7 - Energetic as ever, great technical ability too. Made a few good passes too, spreading the play. Chased back well, at one point covering for Makin back in the right back position. He really should have scored though, looked to have time to go round the keeper but opted for the clip over the top of him which didn't make it over the top as Kenny stayed big. Subs: Tiatto - 5 Blake - 3
Southern Fox Posted 15 September 2004 Posted 15 September 2004 Pressman 6 - His distribution was excellent and a lot better than expected. He lacked confidence and presence though in the box. I felt that he was at fault for their first. Makin 7 - A solid display. You dont get fireworks from him but I think you always know what you are going to get. Stuck to his task well and enjoyed a good battle with the sub Forte. Stewart 7 - Best game of the season. It was as though someone turned on a confidence switch. He confience didnt always generate results but just him looking eager to get past people is a big enough threat which helps the whole team. Keown 8 MOM - Would have scored higher had it not gone tits up at the end. Held his head whilst others lost their. A true pro. A winner. Strong in the tackle and sneaky when it comes to pulling their attackers all over the place at set pieces. Stayed on the pitch to applaud the crowd at the end. Quality. Dabizas 7 - Likewise was awesome for the majority of the game. Took his header really well and forming a good understanding with Keown. Will also be disappointed that as captain, that the team and defence lost all shape and leadership towards the end. Scowcroft 7 - Good game from Scowy. Looks much more comfortable at this level. Took his goal extremely well. Was an aerial threat thoughout the match and would have been the reason Aland Wright was replaced at half time. Covered plenty of grass. Nalis 6 - Glimpses of brilliance with some accurate passing and some crunching challenges but disappears for long periods of the game. Williams 6 - Likewise a very average game. Slowly finding his feet in the City side. No fireworks yet but did get around the pitch. Similar to Nalis, at times lacks presence in midfield despite his stature and quality. Wilcox 7 - Best game so far. Had real presence of the left of midfield for once. As if he knew where he was supposed to be playing. Covered Jordan well and took his goal really well. Dublin 6 - Good game from Dion. Appeared to help out in attack and defence at time. Some nice link up play. Was quiet for some periods. Sometimes left Connolly up alone and caught behind play. Led the line well though. Connolly 6 - Ever running and ever trying but still lacks that end result. I am not sure he fits in to the way Leicester play. At times he touch and vision are sheer class but the players around lack the quality that he has. A very frustrating time for the lad who you can see is feeling the pressure. Snatched at a chance when gifted the ball early in the 2nd half. His time will come. SUBS Tiatto 6 - A couple of crunchers. Booked for taking out an opponent. Little time to make a big enough impact Blake 4 - Did not manage to hold the ball once. not once. Gave away freekicks instead. It still baffles me why MA insists on bringing him on. Shame. Not worthy of the shirt at the moment. MANAGER Adams 6 - Got the tactics spot on 1st half but left it far too long before making changes in the 2nd half which almost lost us the game. The game was crying out for fresh legs at 3-0 but he just didnt make any movement. IMO an appauling piece of management as all around knew that some fresh legs were what was needed. We could have been celebrating 4-0 rather then sweating on a flattering 3-2.

bren Posted 15 September 2004 Posted 15 September 2004 Pressman 7 - Don't feel as comfortable as i do with Walker in goal, but not bad for a big bloke Makin 8 - Very composed, looks like a quality full back Keown 8 - Brilliant, he is our leader at the back Dabizas 6 - Not a terrible game, made a couple of good blocks Stewart 9 - What was was up with him!!! Play like this every week! Scowcroft 9 - Best midfielder by far, took his goal brilliantly, worked so hard, passed well, and chased everything Nalis 6 - Bit subdued, came more into the game in the second half Williams 6 - Some nice touches, but out the game for a lot of the time Wilcox 8 - Great game, good finish, worked really well with Stewart Connolly 5 - Sorry but i am yet to see why Adams paid 500k for him, yes he runs a lot and chases, but he is so easily knocked off the ball, and from what i have seen he cant finish that well!! Dublin 5 - Can't he head a ball? Some neat touches but he is better than this Subs: Tiatto 5 - Came on and got booked! Blake 2 - Why didn't he put Big Trev on, he is stronger and from what i have seen a far better player!
Stuliasz Posted 15 September 2004 Author Posted 15 September 2004 Keep the ratings coming in chaps and chapesses. I will announce the results probably tomorrow afternoon.

TrickyTrev Posted 15 September 2004 Posted 15 September 2004 Pressman 7 Looked assured enough and pounched well at difficult crosses. Nothing he could do about the two goals. Makin 7 He had an average game, not great, but solid enough. Dabizas 6 Still likes to play inside the oppositions shorts, some nice tackles though. Keown 9 Looked far too good for the division. Very promising position. Stewart 8 His best game for ages. Really great first half. Scowcroft 7 Excellent anticipation for the goal, drifted in and out of the match though. Williams 6 Better performance, just was not involved enough. You could see his ability though. Nalis 7 Played alright and gave lots of effort. Has to be a first team regular now. Wilcox 8 Great performance even without the goal. Lots of energy and determination. Conolly 6 Looks very low on confidence but he still gave it his all. Dublin 7 He is a very clever player. Won some free kicks and held the ball up well. *********Subs******** Tiatto 6 Not enough time to do anything. Blake 5 Againnot enough time to do anything, but losses out for missing a sitter (even though he was WRONGLY flagged offsdie).
davieG Posted 15 September 2004 Posted 15 September 2004 Dabizas 6 Still likes to play inside the oppositions shorts, some nice tackles though. What inside the oppositions shorts :: :: ::

Buzzell Posted 15 September 2004 Posted 15 September 2004 Seems like Stewart had a blinder!! Lets hope this is a start of a good run for him, its about time he earned his place in the team.
