Seems like it was heart failure. Apparently he had been in the Hotel lobby with his nephew Chavo and had returned to his room to get ready. When he didnt return security went looking and he was apparently found on his bathroom floor with his toothbrush in his mouth so he literally died while brushing his teeth. Such a shame as Eddie had battled hard against drug addiction a few years ago and had beaten it, and was in fact, one of the best wrestlers around today. He was only 38, such a shame after all he went through. R.I.P

Heart disease seems to be one of the main causes of death,

does anyone have a reason why?

I thought the wrestlers of today were supposed to be fit and healthy!

I admit i have been a wrestling fan for 10-15 years.

Years of steriods, weight training etc. It can be bad for too much excercise as well as not enough!

For the earlier posts - it is not a storyline, they (wwf/wwe) have stooped to some lows but they would never do anything like that, they would lose 80% of their fans instantly if they did.

Eddie was one of my favourite wrestlers and always worked with a smile on his face.

Just a quick story - when i went to watch the Smackdown show in Nottingham last October he was in the main event in a tag-team with the Big show (a good match). After he got on the mic and told us that he was contacted by a woman in Notts whose son was dying and he was his favourite wrestler. (Now might get this part of story wrong) but he said that either he had sent/visited him and had took time to sign things and made his day. He dedicated the match to him (his mum was there!) and said that it is for people like that that he wrestles! It was one of them moments when people just was silent (8,000 - 10,000 people) and just listenened. Amazing and a testament to the man he had become after his problems.

RIP LATINO HEAT

RIP Eddie. I too was at Nottingham that night and it was a testament of how nice a guy he actually was to grab the mike after the main event and thank the fans etc. Unfortunately much like many other pro wrestlers in the past he has succumbed to drugs, alcohol etc as it can be a very lonely life at times due to living in hotel rooms out of a suitcase etc rarely seeing their loved ones. One of the best ever.

Well said - i think sometimes people dont realise the amount of time and work traveling, hotel rooms, signings, international tours etc. to do a 5-30mins match!! Its a job where you travel without your family and it can be lonely and sadly the demons can come into play.

Eddie was only 38. Ex WWE wrestler Test has commented online that the majority of them are addicted to painkillers as have to wrestle 5 days a week often injured. Pro Wrestling may have pre-determined outcomes but nonetheless is still a high risk job with lot's of falls from great heights and head shots from chairs.

I've been a wrestlling fan for a while now (Sad iknow considering i'm nearly 20) and watched WWE Raw last night were it was announced and actually hoped it was a sick joke and part of a story line but it became quite clear by the emotions of the other wrestlers that Latino heat had died.

R.I.P Eddie

Indeed. Quite happy I didn't choose that career :P

For anyone interested the post-mortum revealed heart failure, from previous years of drink and drugs abuse and also the strains of being a wrestler. I for one am glad it was not a relapse as i did not want his legacy to end that way.

Raw is on Sky Sports 3 tonight at 9pm.

RIP VIVA LA RAZA

I was shocked when I heard this aswell, Eddie was without doubt one of the funniest wrestlers, I was just watching the other day in a match against Mr Kennedy, he was always happy and a great athlete, its great loss for the WWE and all the fans not to mention his family.

RIP EDDIE!
