If you search through the bargain bin, you'll end up with older CBs with premier league experience that are past their prime or young players that lack of experience. At least if you go with the younger players, there's re-sale value. At this point i think we need bodies. God forbid when the transfer window closes, what happens if Soyuncu goes down? At least Richards has 11 starts under his belt at Hoffenheim and has proven he can do a job at that level. 2

If we could pick him up and Tarkowski then I would be a lot happier. We need a level head in at this point, and I suspect we would have been looking to get Tarkowski in at the end of this season on a free anyway. We just do not have a good balance at the moment and Soyuncu has a tendency to go off the rails when things are not going right. Richards is in the mould of Fofana, adventurous good on the floor, can actually attack a ball with his head in the opposing box and knows what he is doing and also has an eye for a pass. Him and Wes together would be an exciting combination but it is the man he plays alongside at the moment who allows him to be so brilliant that is a big factor.
