Leicester City have announced that they will pilot a new singing section at the King Power Stadium.

The section will be in place when City host Brighton in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup on October 26.

It is a poignant date for City fans - one that marks three years since the death of Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four others in a helicopter crash at the stadium.

The new singing section pilot comes "at the request of a number of match-going supporters," the club says, as they conduct "ongoing research into enhancing the matchday experience" for supporters.

It is the second time City have piloted a singing section after a similar initiative at an FA Cup game against Wigan Athletic in January 2020.

"Finally doing something good," one fan said on Twitter.

"YEEEEEEEEY," said another excited fan, while a third asked: "Shouldn't the whole stadium sing?"

A fourth supporter on social media commented: "Nice. Next stop, safe standing?"

One more cynical supporter added: "A singing section… I’ve heard it all! If you’re not singing, cheering or shouting I don’t think you’re attending the right event…"
