In reply to the OP, wherever, it won’t be anywhere near good enough for most on FT 😉

Agreed, we were in league 1 12 years ago #perspective.

If we allow Rodgers to remain and spend money on more of HIS players to try and fulfil HIS philosophy, then I fear relegation or languishing at the bottom of the table because the scales will have fallen from Top's eyes, Rodgers will have been sacked. However, his legacy will be a burgeoning squad of inadequate players who will have to be jettisoned over a long period of time. Any decent players worth any money will have long gone.

Basically this

However, the clubs immediate and long term future is sat on a knife edge right now.

Win today and he’ll earn a stay of execution unfortunately. We’ll lose a few more, get another random win (probably at home to Liverpool) and the stay of execution continues. We make a few more bad signings in January, continue to slide down the table, but we give Rodgers time to turn it around- because he’s not had that yet. And he won us the FA Cup last May.

Eventually we end up near enough to the bottom three for Top to finally pull the trigger.

Unfortunately the long term damage will have already been done. Wilf and Youri depart, and we’re left with Nightmare (Soumare) and Bertrand. We’ll no longer be an attractive club to come to, battling the Top 6, but that’s ok, because we were shite 12 years ago

Or we get rid after losing today. New manager bounce will see us turn our immediate woes around, we start to keep a clean sheet here or there. The fans actually start to enjoy coming to the games again (let’s be honest- who the fcuk is looking forward to today?) and the players start to play with direction, fire in their bellies and a belief we’ve not really seen since pre pandemic. Current players potentially sign new contracts after having a being part of a rejuvenated LCFC, and we go back to becoming an attractive club for decent players to sign for once again.

After Rodgers’ departure, he goes to a big club, currently floundering in mid table having overspent on average players previously. He immediately turns the fortunes of said club around prompting half of FT to say, ‘I tOlD yOu He ShOuLd Be GiVeN tImE’ until a year or so later when Rodgers has his own signings playing for said club, starts passing sideways and backwards for 85mins of a match and calls it ‘good football’

And the cycle repeats itself
