How Will You Remember 2005?

Doing well in A levels and gettin in to uni, despite being written off my whole educational life... Sticking two fingers up at former teachers felt goooood! :P

The year I got my wife back from death's door thanks to people's skill and good care.

A year when far too many were not so lucky because of people's inhumanity.

The images of those starving children in Niger

The tears of Denis Law for George Best

The teasing skills of Ryan Smith

The comeraderie with so many people on this forum (including those who disagree with me more often than not). It's been important therapy this particular year and I'm grateful.

Watching reserve team football in torrential rain.

The New Orleans floods and so much human despair.

Realising the full extent of the Tsunami's destruction

The daily consequences in death, destruction and dreadful injury of Tony Blair's excursions into Iraq and Afghanistan.

Fascination with Swissfox's Twin Towers conspiracy theory

Tasting my chef-to-be sons first professional meal.

Meeting my youngest son's lovely 18-year-old American fiance for the first time and being called "Dad" by her so soon after the desperately sad loss of her own father not many months ago.

Thrac, Even if you do provide me with a bit too much reading, you've been a great addition to this board. And I'm glad your year has been positive on a personal level.

What a kind thing to say. Much appreciated. I'll try to be more sparing on the words - but I guess we all are what we are (as Besty might have said!). :)
