If they’re one of the few women in a role like that who’ve overseen one of the most unprecedented rises and success stories in football history, have a great legacy of investing in the community on a scale not matched by their peer clubs, and consistently support and improve inclusiveness at football, yeah, give them an OBE.

Not sure there are too many out there other than Susan Whelan who fit that description.

She doesn't invest in the community Top does and what has being a Woman got to do with it? if she is getting an award for being a woman then the honours system is sexist. She does a great job for us and I very much appreciate that. but that is where it should end.

Invest doesn't always mean donating millions. Do you know for certain she doesn't gibe her own time to community projects, or use her influence at the club to push the club to do things?

Of course Susan is heavily involved in how and where that money goes. Who do you think is really running the VS Foundation?

And I’m not here to teach you about sexism but celebrating a woman’s incredible success and her push for inclusivity in an extremely male-dominated world is the opposite of sexism.

Agreed. Surely Susan has been central to the club's success and raised profile.

That sentence was written in a rush and way nastier than intended.  Just start with “celebrating” and skip that first part of it, @PAPA LAZAROU:schmike:
