  1. Trying to get quotes and people to do work is such hard work. The cost of living crisis obviously isn't stopping people spending money and companies don't need the work. Or, they just can't be arsed to respond. Two weeks ago I sent 8 enquiries requesting quotes for a solar installation. Two replies.

Went been for our first trip out in the pooch mobile yesterday. It went very well. It was great to be able to walk somewhere, without him having to, then let him out for a walk and sniff about. Hop back in the buggy and go back without worrying he might be in pain or doing to much. Once the weather calms down, we'll hopefully be able to return to some nice days out. And, it's enabled us to book a holiday for the 3 of us.
  3. To be fair to the receptionist, she'd very quickly noted we were English tourists, was very helpful and saw our confusion at the question, said she had to ask but had pretty much assumed we were not carrying weapons.
  4. If anyone had sleep issues, I can recommend Magnesium. It has to be magnesium glycinate. I had issues a while ago, could get to sleep fine but constantly waking up and feeling dreadful the following day. It's not completely solved it but has helped a lot. https://www.nutritiongeeks.co/products/magnesium-glycinate-3-in-1
  5. I'll see you and raise you....a Foxes Talk LCFC match day thread
  6. We had the misfortune of needing to visit ER/A&E whilst on a recent US holiday. After asking about symptoms and insurance, the next question was 'are you armed?'
  7. The extra ad breaks, you mean...

Hot enough for a hydration break then
  9. I've no idea, I'm as surprised as you. It was @leicsmac with the giraffe grooming info.....
  10. Anglesey for a week in September. Self catering accommodation is a fraction of the cost compared to lots of UK destinations, especially if you're looking for dog friendly. It's not an area I've ever visited so, looking forward to it and it'll probably be the last opportunity to take the pooch away for a holiday.
  11. Giraffes pluck their nasal hair. I never cease to be amazed by the things I learn on this forum
  12. It's been some swing in temperature!
  13. FoxesTalk summer outing.
  14. Lots of it is just planning, which just becomes second nature. Now, admittedly, our only regular long journeys are Gatwick and Heathrow. We set off with a full battery, stop at Toddington for a coffee and comfort break (which we'd do anyway) and top up. Park for the holiday and then do the reverse on return. We did Northumberland last year, same mo, comfort break and lunch with charging. No issues at all. With the newer, faster charging stations, we're finding we're having to stop the charge last at through coffee. The new ones are making it a significantly easier operation.

The forecast didn't have the temperature declining much tonight but, it had noticeably cooled by 9pm. Get the windows open
  16. Money and organisation. I had the misfortune to visit a hospital for 3 days in the USA whilst away last month. ER waiting time, 9 minutes. Into a private cubicle after triage. Test results are back within 15 minutes, the x-ray machine came to the cubicle, as did the admissions person and their computer. Everything is logged and you're advised of results and treatments via an app on your phone (using the free wifi). After admission, into a private room with bathroom. Which there's barely time to use for the frequency of clinical staff and Dr's visiting you. Obviously, at £3k a day, without treatment costs, you'd expect it to be decent. Still waiting for the travel insurance to confirm they've covered all the costs, which is a bit anxiety inducing. If not, I may have a kidney to sell....
  17. 3 years for me. And, it was a couple of years ago. The amount of new chargers going in now is immense. Plus, Tesla have opened up at least 50% off theirs. I was at Eveything Electric last weekend. I was impressed by the BYD collection. Opted not to test drive as, the only 2 I liked were too big to be suitable replacements, if we change in a couple of years. The new Ionic 3 looked smart.

It wasn't cooler outside than inside at midnight here. I opened a few small ones in the hope of it being a bit cooler overnight. Woke at 5.30am and opened everything up as it's 21c v 24c. We're very fortunate that the bedroom and lounge are NE facing and aren't as warm as the rest of the house.
  19. Albania next week, seems less of an issue last minute than Canada. We've done last minute ish bargain flights to smaller, more local random places. It's more manageable than a trip to Canada... Post the OH's retirement, we'd hoped to do more trips like this again but, we have to book kennels for the dog, and you have to book those early, unless it's unpopular times like November.
  20. It's starting to have the longevity of the Watford managers job.
  21. 10% off on Tuesdays, if you can find an over 65 to shop with
  22. They're not. Half of the population live on kale and are slim. The other half, not so much...
  23. It hadn't occurred to me that it was cold enough for the heating thermostat to kick in, it has and I'm not even there. As it's June I didn't think to put holiday mode on. Thanks to you resurrecting this thread, holiday mode is on. Cheers.
  24. I'm with Sami, OK cooked in a sauce or fresh. On a fry up, absolutely not for me.
  25. Pretty much my renewal scenario.
