UHDrive Posted 21 August 2022 Posted 21 August 2022 (edited) I think the club needs more bite over our players, whether they are first team or otherwise. We are too nice too often. Cut aside the current predicament and imo players such as Vestergaard and Bertrand should be shown the door to the development squad if they refuse to consider moving on with opportunities they have. Let's assume that this has been the case. We see it at most of the top clubs. We see it with our own ex players I.e. Drinkwater at Chelsea. We are in a mess where we can't move players on. Yes it's their right to hang around, they have a contract etc and I'm not disputing that but I feel that we could, and should be doing a lot more right now to free up funds in a manner associated with other PL teams. One of those 'nudges' would be to give them a dev squad number early doors. Edited 21 August 2022 by UHDrive Typo 1

I know, but he has a first team squad place and I'd be more inclined in the circumstances not to give him one especially after last year.

Brunt - Upgrade on Vestergaard. Braybrooke - Competition for Maddison, KDH & Praet. Maswanhise - Back up for Barnes.

I would say it is much better than it has been for ages, especially with the quality of players we have coming through
